I've only had the camera less than a week and am really impressed. I've coupled it with a Sony 24-240 lens for my upcoming trip to the Norwegian Fjords.

Happy I bought this camera to replace my worn out NEX 6. Familiar menu structure from my Sony A77. Great additional functions and stunning autofocus performance so far.

I bought this almost 6 months ago and it is really amazing, starting from battery backup to processing images right on the camera it is awesome. I just have a complaint about it's touchscreen capabilities, it should be much more flexible. Liked the quality of images.

This is a great little camera. You can get great photos in the "automatic modes" or you can be more creative by setting it on manual. I am very pleased with my purchase.

This is my first "serious" camera and for an amateur photographer it's perfectly matches me current skill set. The best part I think is how light and portable it is. Also, I can get pretty pro-grade pictures after tweaking in-camera settings. One point though that I have struggled with is the focus settings which may be entirely due to me not fully grasping but the focus point jumps and down and has a very small focus area which can render an entire image not sharp as it has focused on a tiny part of the whole picture.

Upgraded to this from the a6000. Huge improvement in design and quality. Autofocus is great, quick and picks up eyes nicely. Seems to perform much better at higher iso, not anywhere near full frame, but still looks great at 6400+. The a6000 is barely usable above 1600 in my opinion.

Having previously owned an ILCE-(A)6300 for a few years I was reasonably familiar with the somewhat awkward menu system that has had a bit of a refresh on the A6600 but overall there isn't much of an improvement and the camera itself other than its main/key features which are the faster and more accurate auto focus, larger battery that seems to go on and on (....and on and on!) for ages compared to the smaller battery in the A6300. Also, because the battery is physically bigger, so is the grip which is much more comfortable in the hand. This newer camera also has the in body stabilisation which helps with both stills and video ....but is far from perfect and could be better! The auto focus can now be switched between human and animal eye focus which is good for animal photography which I rarely do but the option is now there for those that do. If there is a downside to this camera it would be the price compared to other makes with a similar spec but as I'm already invested in the system with a few Sony lenses plus a lot of third party alternatives, this camera is good for me plus it is a lot cheaper than a full frame Sony camera with lenses with similar specs.

Having only been using this camera for a couple of weeks now it's heavier over my old a6000 which was a great little camera, this one is good but not great, the menu is still old and clunky, and so many options inside other options it's been a challenge to understand this camera and still is a challenge to navigate the menus, overall the picture quality is good, haven't managed to try the video out yet.

Bought the a6600 recently; my first Sony & first Mirrorless. Fantastic little camera & exactly what I needed. Battery life is good so far. Although I haven?t used it too much so far the one gripe I do have is the Sony menu system seems quite complicated to navigate and use

Powerful Hybrid Lightweight Camera for videographers or photographers that can compete with other full frame cameras. Can record 4K at 30fps or 24fps, 1080p at 120fps (cropped) or 60/30/24fps with no recording time limit. Can take high resolution photos at 24.2MP, great for cropping photos.

Honestly the best camera I own right now. I'm not a professional photographer but I inherited a couple vintage cameras from the 60s and 80s, own a modern DSLR, and now this mirrorless piece. I'm still discovering how to go through the menu. Not intuitive at all but for what I'm going to use it, I already love it. Wow!

Best travel camera ever!
By NomadingNick
I bought this camera on B&H Photo Video (there is a student discount) I did about 5 months of research deciding on what to upgrade from my old a6000. It came down to 3 cameras, the a6600, the Fujifilm X-T3, and the Sony A7 mark III. After much research, hundreds of hours of youtube, rentals, borrowing lenses, etc, here are my reasons: SONY A7III (Full Frame): -In the end full frame was just too cumbersome. The weight didn't bother me at all, but the size did. I am a heavy, heavy traveler (...

Amazing mirrorless Camera
By Chris1988
Waited a while to get this camera for price wise, was surprised when the box turned up with how small it was and once out of the box how small the camera is in the hands. Holding it tho is really nice, fits in my hands perfectly and having the larger battery it lasts a long time shooting too. the image quality out of this camera is brilliant and the auto focus is so fast and eye AF is amazing on people and animals. Really well made, the menu system is a little confusing to someone who doesn't...

The α6600 packs in the features, to deliver what you need for just about any situation you encounter – fast AF, steady image stabilization and stunning image quality, a high-capacity battery and serious 4K HDR (HLG) movie shooting.
Shoot at up to 11 fps with minimal display lag, and 8 fps with live view, in bursts of up to 116 shots in JPEG (Standard) at one time. With your settings clearly previewed in the electronic viewfinder, and the virtually real-time display, it will elevate your action shooting to a whole new level.
When the situation calls for absolute quiet, silent shooting with no shutter noise is possible at up to 8 fps, even in AF-C mode. Used with Real-time Eye AF or with Real-time Tracking it dramatically expands your range of shooting options.
Even when your portrait subject is on the move, Real-time Eye AF provides continuous, stable eye detection and tracking to keep your scene in focus. It also works when the subject's face is partially hidden, backlit, or facing downward.
The 24.2-megapixel APS-C image sensor is optimized for highly efficient light collection, a wide sensitivity range and low-noise performance even at high ISO settings. In conjunction with the latest-generation BIONZ X image processing engine, it delivers superb image clarity and outstanding textural reproduction.
Algorithms inherited from our highly regarded full-frame cameras are responsible for the α6600's faithful color reproduction. Depiction of human skin tones has been significantly improved, as have the vibrant colors of flowers. Jaggies and false colors are also suppressed.
