The only problem with this is you have to intentionally buy a non Sony mount Laowa 12mm f/2.8 to use it on your Sony E mount. I also use Nikon, so that decision was easy. Also, since the Laowa 12mm has no electronics, using a dumb adapter for the 12mm is not an issue. Image quality does not seem to be impacted by using the Magicshift. Having a compact 12mm f/2.8 AND a 17mm f/4 shift in such a small package is amazing for travel. Haven't tried using the Magicshift with any other lens yet. (As a bonus, the 12mm on a D850 worked very well also.)

Laowa Magic Shift Converter (MSC) is an adapter specially designed to convert the Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D (Canon mount) into a 17mm f/4 +/-10mm Shift lens and use it with the Sony full frame E-mount cameras. With the MSC, you can have absolute vertical lines rather than converging lines while shooting. This is a super useful feature in architecture and interior photography.
Laowa Magic Shift Converter (MSC) took advantage of the short flange distance of mirrorless cameras and incorporated a patented optics system into the converter.
The patented optical system in the MSC will enlarge the image circle of the 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D from 43.2mm to 60mm in diameter and convert it a 17mm f/4 lens with +/- 10mm shift capability. The camera can be rotated in a 360 full circle, allowing a quick switch between landscape and portrait framing or to change the shift direction.
LAOWA MCS comprises of 5 elements in 4 groups, with 2 Extra Refractive glasses. The optical structure is carefully designed which gives minimal impact on the image quality of our Laowa 12mm f/2.8 Zero-D. It will also cancel out some of the chormatic aberrations and distortion of some ultra-wide angle lenses. Our close-to-zero distortion feature can also be retained.
The Laowa Magic Shift Converter is the first member of the Laowa Magic Converter line-up, followed by the the Laowa Magic Format Converter (MFC) announced earlier.
The MFC is the World’s First lens adapter which can enlarge the image circle of Full Frame Lenses for using on Fujifilm GFX-50S. Like the MSC, the MFC also enlarge the image circle of a Full Frame lens, so that it can completely fill the Fujifilm GFX sensors with NO vignetting.
