Review based on not having flash yet.
I received this a couple weeks ago, before they lowered the price, but I have only been able to look at it as Fujifilm failed to ship the actual flash at the same time. Not Adorama's fault, Adorama is a great and reliable store with amazing customer service.
The item is basically an eight AA battery holder, connected by a dedicated port plug in the flash unit. I haven't tried it yet, but it seems you could also have batteries inside the flash, meaning 12 batteries total at the same time. It feels sturdy with a durable connection cable, but what makes it look really professional is the very cool thick fabric case, a flexible design that gives the user many mounting possibilities. I'll be trying this with rechargeable batteries; I gave it four stars because I thought it would have been nice to design it as a charger for those who want that type of battery, and if you're buying so many batteries, you probably will. Of course, power packs with built in rechargeable batteries are far more expensive, so in that sense this Fujifilm product is a good deal.
