Very easy to set up; lightweight; adjustable bracket provides flexibility to use with different flashes (I used it with two different flashes); two diffusion panels enable soft lighting. Haven't used it long enough to determine how durable it's going to be, but it feels sturdy and well made. I got it together with Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter #2905 so that I can tilt the softbox.

It gives you the ability to create soft lighting for portraits. and it's easily take down and set up. The softbox itself is constructed very well, the bracket is made of hard plastic and is okay. I been using it for several weeks with my Phottix receiver w/o any issue.

Fantastic softbox that is super compact for traveling. Fairly wide area of light output for a 24x24. The speedring can pop off the softbox if it's not on it properly. Also, if you use Radiopopper transmitter/receivers, the plastic rig that the Radiopopper receiver attaches to the flash will not work with the ezybox mounting. No problem as I just used velcro to attach it to the flash.

I use it for portraits and still lifes or anywhere I need extra light. It's a great softbox. I primarily use it on a stand but it can be handheld on a pole. It has two diffusers so you can modify the quality of light. I use it with a Nikon SB-600.

great piece of kit does exactly what i wanted from it and it is build well and I expect it to last a good while yet. Two levels of diffusion and easy to set up and take down with a nice carry case to boot. If you are after a medium sized softbox I would recommend this definitely. I have the smaller one as well and that is just as good too.

If I had to find a problem with this item it would be the largish triangular shape it comes when folded. However, I understand that it is exactly this shape that makes so easy and quick to deploy. Very happy with it

Very pleased with this product, simple to assemble right out of the box. I bought two of these and use them with two SB 900 speed lights & pocket wizard flex tt5's for environmental portraits. Recommend using sand bags on the legs of the light stands on out door locations.

They need a Mark III bracket...Mark II is a bit short when you are using a Canon 580EXII with a pocketwizard Flex TT5 along with the anti-noise interference dongle. It would also be nice if they made a bracket that would accept the pocketwizard AC7 anti-noise interference hard cases.

While a little difficult to set up, it works just as it says. I had no problem using this with my SB-600. Its a little on the focused side, but that's what you get with a softbox this size.

Great softbox for shoe-mount flashes. The only thing I didn't like was the somewhat flimsy plastic shoe mount on the bracket. Ended up replacing it with a stoboframe foot and a wingnut, and it is rock solid.

Great small light mod. Folds away quickly and compactly. The quality of light is very good and the size lets you get it in close. The bracket works well with both an SB900 and SB600.

We just bought one of these and took out for the first time on an outdoor maternity session. We could not be more pleased with this product. It sets up easy, is made of durable high-quality materials, and is lightweight and easy to move around even after assembled. The quality of light it produced far exceeded our expectations. I shot with a Sunpak PZ42X (Nikon dedicated) flash, triggered with Yongnuo RF-602's and my D200 camera. This set-up requires me to meter manually but once I got the aperture dialed in I just kept the light the same distance from the subject at each set-up and shot away. I've attached a couple images from the session. Needless to say the client was pleased! We will not hesitate to buy more Lastolite products. You really get what you pay for!

Lastolite has made a softbox that has become my go-to light source for location portraits. Great, soft light with your shoe-mount flash. The only thing I didn't especially like was the plastic shoe mount that came with the bracket. I ended up making my own with a thumb screw and a Manfrotto shoe that is much more stable.

After using umbrellas as speedlight mods for some time, I purchased this after seeing McNally use one fairly frequently. It's really a wonderful light mod for speedlights. Very compact, simple to assemble and gives a really nice light.

The SB-900 issue was a known problem, and has been fixed with the new version. (The Mk. II bracket listed in the description.) The new bracket has two hotshoes mounted back to back, and you just rotate the piece 180 degrees to switch between the SB-900 shoe and the standard one. My SB-900 fits perfectly in the shoe, and is quite secure. I love this softbox. It's probably the most important piece in my location kit. It's easy to transport, well-made, and light enough to be used on a compact lightstand. (Like the Manfrotto Nano.) The quality of light is excellent. The only things I'd change would be to add a tilt swivel on the bracket (easy to fix by using an umbrella bracket, though.) and a pocket or slipcase for the two pieces of diffusion fabric, as there's currently nowhere to put them.

Is anyone else having this problem: When trying to attach my SB 900 per the instructions, the flash unit slides 90% of the way into the bracket but is then stopped by the wider piece of plastic on the back of the SB 900's mount. So, the flash doesn't slide all the way onto the bracket... It could just be me or it could be that I got a bad bracket. Otherwise I love this thing, the portability, the quality, all of it.

I use this for environmental on location portrait shooting. I use it on a light stand or have an assistant hold it with an adjustable boom pole. It works very well. Gives a very soft light that wraps around my subject with out any hot spots. It is very portable as well. I use it with a Nikon SB-800 speed flash remotely. My only improvement would be the case could be larger. It is a little difficult to fold up.

I have used the soft box for portrait and figure work. I have shot my best looking photos with the softbox. The quality of light is so much more natural and softer than shooting w/ an umbrella.

I have always wanted a softbox and this is my first one. I use this along with an SB-900 and the light quality is very good for general use and the models love it. I plan to purchase the modifier kit soon.

The product itself is rather high quality. But for the new version of the kit, they went with a not so compact carry bag. Its a cumbersome triangular slip case the exact dimensions of one of the softbox's side and barely stows the included ring/bracket. The whole package now isn't suitable to pack into a photo roller let alone a backpack either. Lastolite should've let the carry case alone. The previous versions were fine and was the reason I chose them in the first place, for its super portability. Lastolite, please ship them in the original pouch.

I recently got this product after watching the review on the Learning Center with Mark Wallace. I am happy with the product so far. I am just getting into off camera flash photography and this was a good choice for me since I do some indoor and some outdoor photography and this is nicely broken down and reset up. Mark did mention in his video that the bracket and box wont work with a PocketWizard Flex. I found this to no be true though it wasn't straight forward...see photos.

Well made, highly recommended. But for mounting the SB900, it doesn't seem to make the tightest bond with the plastic mount. Wish there would be a metal cold shoe mount for the flash.

Setup is easy, light is defused and wraps around the subject. One of the softest lights I have used. I got two of the to create soft light on both sides of the model.

Since I received my Ezybox, it is being used on a regular basis. Easy & fast setup is the main feature that I like. It is lightweight and very easy to be hand held by my assistant. I have never tried to fold it up to fit in its original pouch, because I feel that it may degrade the shape of the Ezybox. Still as convenient just to fold flat for storage.

Easy to set up, the bracket (Derlin) is strong and lightweight and the inner baffle is an added bonus. And the supplied bracket works with the Nikon SB 900. The idea of using a expandable handle for a VAL is trick, I bought both a short and long one. Have another companies 15" collapsable softbox and I doubt it will now ever be used. It doesn't have an inner diffuser, work with a SB 900 or fold up as small!

AWESOME! GREAT LIGHT!
By JORDAN G.
AMAZING what this can do to your light. Using a D300 with SB800 or SB600 off camera this can dramatically change your light. Light and easy enough to take on the road, I see this used in many, many situations. You honestly have to see the quality of the light in person, its great.

Softboxes control light in a way that umbrellas just can't although the actual lighting is very similar. The Ezybox is a brilliant entrant into the field of softening light from small flashes - it generally needs to be used close - but that is the point of a softbox anyway. I use Pocketwizard Flex TT5 triggers mated to Canon 580EX II flashes and this is a fantastic combination in the field when working fast. The Ezybox is well built, sturdy, fits securely together and is light enough for an a...
