So I know 99% of people will say buy cheap umbrellas. I have some & a bunch of Glows'. I am replacing an Elinchrom 41" I had for years and left somewhere. Those were $80 so I decided I'd buy 1 Profoto umbrella to see what it was like. I had a couple of silvers many years ago, they were industrial grade and made with metal ribs and stretchers (that bent). This Translucent is extremely light. I think the ribs and stretchers are fiberglass, The hinge points are some sort of nylon. It's a 8mm shaft that seem pretty stiff. Time will tell but first impression is good. Docked one star because of the cost...VAT...

Typical Profoto quality. Outstanding build and will outlast less expensive umbrellas. More expensive than others, but worth it.
