About Ricoh GR IV Monochrome Camera
Based on the RICOH GR IV premium compact camera, the GR IV Monochrome is exclusively designed for monochrome photography.
With the exceptional image quality, quick response, and outstanding portability that the GR series is known for, the GR IV Monochrome incorporates a monochrome-dedicated image sensor. By eliminating the color filter used to acquire color information, as well as the interpolation process required to generate color images, the camera can fully draw out the capabilities of the high-performance GR lens, delivering refined rendering and rich tonal gradation.
A built-in red filter enables more distinctive monochrome photography, while two newly developed Image Control options dedicated to monochrome imaging provide deep and diverse monochrome expressions.
Monochrome-dedicated image sensor
The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome Camera packs a special 25.74-megapixel sensor made strictly for black-and-white photography. It captures light directly for incredibly sharp and highly detailed B&W images.
Built-in red filter
The camera houses a red filter built right into the lens that you can toggle on and off with a quick click. It works magic by naturally darkening blue skies so white clouds stand out, or by making red subjects really pop.
Diverse monochrome expressions
Pick the "Solid" setting for a crisp and high-contrast look or maybe the "Grainy" if you want that classic and textured vibe of old-school printed film.
Carefully crafted exterior design
The Ricoh GR IV Monochrome Camera's body features a tough magnesium-alloy frame wrapped in a sleek, matte black finish.
Power button
The power button illumination has also been changed to glowing white. The monochrome aesthetic is expressed throughout the design.
GR logo
The front GR logo is finished off with a subtle semi-gloss black, with a luster distinct from that of the body finish.
