There are many things I can say about this piece of equipment. I will also say there are many reviews about it out on the internet too. I will share my Pros and Cons to help you make your decision. It was a struggle for me to decide if I needed the Web Presenter HD or 4k version. Ultimately I landed on the 4k version, because it allows me to grow my production quality when my cameras, switcher and internet bandwidth grow as well. The build quality is top notch and it has not overheated for me. There is no power switch, it is an always on type unit. If you want to turn it off, it either is unplugged or needs a power strip to be flipped off. Pro: 1. Physical buttons and nob on the front with a small preview screen for confidence during your broadcast. 2. It offers around a 90 second cache for the ingesting 12G SDI video feed. This is good if you ever have your internet connection cutout during a broadcast. 3. It has 2 internet sources, a 1 GbE Ethernet port and the 2nd is a USB Type-C to Mobile Hotspot / Phone over 4G LTE / 5G with automatic switching for fail-over. If setup to use both before the stream, it will do a fail-over to the secondary. 4. There is a USB Type-C port on the back interface which can be used as a Webcam on a computer. Any OS capable of a USB Web camera (Windows / Linux / Mac OS device. Something like OBS to both Record the stream output and or re-broadcast to 2nd RTMP platform. 5. Unlike the BMD ATEM Mini Pro/Extreme units, the Web Presenter HD/4k can dynamically change stream quality while the stream is live. (I.E. if the broadcast starts on High Quality (9 Mbps), it can change to Medium Quality (6 Mbps) while streaming. This advantage over the ATEM because once it is streaming the quality cannot be changed until the stream has been stopped. 6. The rear interface also one HDMI and one SDI Output allowing you to monitor the broadcast Audio levels, Video quality, On Air, and so much more. 7. A 12G SDI Loop output to put into another 12G SDI input device. Like a 2nd Web Presenter HD/4k or a recording device. 7. While there are built-in streaming destinations, the Web Presenter HD/4k offer an import of custom XML to enter additional RTMP servers you would want to stream too. Cons: 1. The only input is a 12G SDI for Audio/Video. Unlike the previous generation which had an HDMI input. 2. No way to record video on the Web Presenter HD/4k. This requires an additional device like a HyperDeck, or adding a field recorder with 12G SDI input. 3. It can only be controlled using Blackmagic software off of their website. Note: The manual indicates you can have an HTML readout of specs if you navigate to it's IP address on your local LAN. Note: The connecting SDI cable can be 3G/6G/12G, but realize that each version allows a different throughput of video to the device. A 3G will be limited to only 1080p30, but a 12G will allow 4k60.
