Great addition to my location gear

Bought the Microboom on preorder and it was well worth the investment. Did an entire shoot with a boom while the lavs sat in my bag. It's light weight, quick to set up, and puts my small Rode right where it needs to be. Mounts nicely on my rig. That's my little Zoom 32 bit recorder so levels are a non-issue. The audio was great and without the time and fuss of hiding lavs. Interesting to see the XLR out, great for camcorders perhaps but since I left my big old Sony in the bag and switched to 4K mirrorless I've slimmed down the rest of my kit. Highly recommended accessory.

Quick answer to a question

Since you don't have threads that let users add to questions.. question was "It appears that male end of internal cable is at top, and female at bottom. Is it possible for users to reverse this cable so that female end will be at top and male at bottom?" Ii was initially confused until I actually looked at my mic. It has a female connector on the mic body and make to make coiled cable to plug in to camera. Unplugged that cable, plugged the make boom cable into the mic and used the coil cable to go from the camera end boom cable and camera input.

Game Changer for Solo creator.

I really enjoyed using the microBOOM when I was filming solo at an event. My go to is a wireless mic in some way shape or form. With the microBOOM, I was able to interview and film without needing to mic up a person or keep track of a small wireless transmitter. Being able to use this with my small microphone in a loud environment, and get really good audio was just what I was hoping I would get out of the microBOOM. With it attached to the NATO rail on my camera cage, I never have to worry about making sure my microphone is out of frame. This is my first introduction to Zacuto, and if their product is as stellar as their customer service, I will be a life long fan! Mandy emailed me to ensure I had received my microBOOM. You don't find customer service like that from many brands. I hope people will look at this as a great tool to help them accomplish a part of the story telling process, and not as a gimmick. I know for me, I look forward to using this to assist me in capturing better audio.
