Finest 90mm lens in the world.
This is simply the finest 90mm lens in the world, regardless of speed, for 35mm photography. Color rendition is outstanding with excellent flare supression for the focal length. The resolving power of this lens is already at the limit of the finest resolving color transparency films at f/2. The APO-Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. quite literally goes one step further, by facilitating true close-up shots. Its minimum focusing distance of just 30 centimeters surpasses all previous M lenses. A floating lens element ensures exceptional rendition quality across the entire image at all distance settings.The focus ring has a particularly large rotational throw of 300 Degree , giving ample range for extremely precise focusing even throughout the extended close-focus range. In conjunction with its high light sensitivity, the APO-Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. takes compositional creativity to the next level. An exceptional lens for those once-in-a-lifetime Leica moments.

With its intricate design, special glass types and high-precision craftsmanship, the APO-Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. ranks among Leica's most elaborately constructed lenses. The result: a close-to flawless imaging performance. Three of the ten lens elements (divided into five groups) feature aspherical surfaces - one of them on both sides. In addition, the new M lens renders images with practically no chromatic aberration, thanks to apochromatic correction - a rare quality in lenses of this focal length.The specially designed lens hood, in combination with highly effective anti-reflective coatings, make the APO-Summicron-M 35 f/2 ASPH. virtually impervious to stray light and glare.
