Excellent Product

The Libec RS-*50 series of tripods are certainly my favorite in this price/weight class. Pans and tilts are smoother than any other and the continuous counter balance (rarely found on other models at this price) allows you to dial in the exact weight of your rig within the weight constaints of the head (10lbs-26.6lbs). Just a warning, this tripod is a little bit on the heavy duty side, as far as 75mm bowls go. If you're shooting on a DSLR know that you'll have to add some weight (counterbalance minimum=10 lbs). My DSLR kit includes rails/follow focus/mattebox and all totaled is barely heavy enough to correctly balance on this head. The nice thing about this system is that it's plenty strong enough to steadily support small jib arms or other camera support gear. So whether I'm shooting with a RED, full DSLR kit, or a jib, this one tripod handles it all. Would be nice to have a spare RS-350 (which I've also used as a rental with great results) for increased portability when needed (owners of lightweight cameras will appreciated the reduced size and weight compared to this one).

The Libec RS-450 Tripod System with Floor Spreader introduces its "free plus 3 steps" drag system along with a counterbalance range of 4.5 to 10.5 kg (maximum payload of 12 kg). This makes for a smooth, wobble-free image whether panning, tilting, or stopping movement on a dime.
