The bottom line is that this is an I ncredibly expensive piece of cheap plastic that does not attach firmly to the lens hood and is easy to lose. There appears to be no generic alternative to this genuine Leica lens cap, so if you lose it and want a replacement this is your only choice. As with anything Leica, you're paying a fortune.

It is a good lens cap, but it can be easily lost. Even the super cheap tether does not prevent the lenscap from falling off the lens.

It's NOT Adoramas fault I didn't give it 5 stars. Adorama kicks butt!! No, I need the unbelievably elusive Leica *48*mm lens cap. Two of them in fact; one for the circular polarizer on my D-Lux 5 and one for my Leica M-mount 90mm f2 (Canada '70s era model) Summicron. Unbelievably difficult to find these days! I thought I could make the 49mm cap work. Nope.

i received the product in a timely manner and the package looked fine, but the cap for my tri elmer lens had been pinched so that it would not seat properly. It works but I didn't order a dented part so be careful when you open package: It may be a factory second.

Seriously. I suspect it's some synthetic nowadays. Ah, the march of progress. Regardless, this lens cap is the Leica of lens caps. Literally. You will not regret the investment.

I purchase a used Leica 35mm f/2.0 Summicron. The lens was in perfect condition, but it did not have the front lens cap. This Leica front lens cap is a perfect fit, as you would expect, for the 35mm f/2.0. Plus the price is quite reasonable, even for Leica.

Oh what can be said about a lens cap? Perfectly round, as if all points were equidistant from the center. Black as night, yet showing subtle texture in the right light. And at nearly $30 for arguable 30 cents of material, you know Leica has added tremendous value in their design and production processes.

yes it is expensive as every leica product. I lost mine when shooting snowstorm in NYC. It fits the lens more tightly than the old one.

Lens cap doesnt have a firm enough grip on the lens rim & comes off easily.

Protects lens, exactly replacing the one I lost. Only a problem if you keep lens hood on camera when applying
