It's a bean bag. You fill it with beans. I used 3 lbs of pinto beans, but you can use white beans, navy beans, lima beans or just whatever kind you like. Pro Tip: If you carry this on a long hike, be sure to throw some rice and spices in the bag along with the beans just in case you get lost on the trail. You can cook and eat the contents while you are waiting for the rescue party to find you. Also, when you have to pack out, your load will be 3-4 lbs lighter. Pretty cool huh?  Some people put the plastic pellets in them to save weight but you can't eat that. Unless you're really hungry. Oh, I think it also works pretty well for camera support but don't eat the contents until after you've taken all your pictures. You're welcome.
