A Leica is Forever

This is my first Leica and probably somewhere around my 20th film camera. I can safely say I'm done buying new film cameras unless I come into some serious money. Then, I might consider buying a few more Leicas. In all seriousness though, this truly must be the best 35mm film camera you can buy. There's no mirror to fail, get stuck, or cause vibration. There's no light meter so no battery to leak and corrode. The viewfinder is bright and beautiful at all times. I've added a Voigtlander VC Meter II and Voigtländer 50mm Heliar f/3.5 VM and I'm very happy with this setup. I see myself using this camera for as long as film is still manufactured.

Leica perfection

Got my M-A about a year ago. I have shot about 80 rolls of joy and perfection. Built flawlessly and sturdy. Everything works like butter, so smooth. Bare minimum. Love it.

Leica slipping on quality control?

I upgraded my M6 into this M-A. It's a great camera -- great build, great feel. But it seems that Leica is slipping on its quality control, my first new M-A had a huge crack on the bottom, its shutter was so tight that every time I pressed the shutter, I felt the shutter shock! I replaced that camera but now this new model has some minor rewind crank issue. Leica, you are disappointing even your most loyal fans!

Got my M-A about a year ago. I have shot about 80 rolls of joy and perfection. Built flawlessly and sturdy. Everything works like butter, so smooth. Bare minimum. Love it.

You can embrace the art of traditional photography with the Leica M-A (Typ 127) 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera in sleek silver. This high-end, professional-grade camera is a testament to Leica's century-long experience in crafting precision instruments for photographers. Stripped down to the essentials, this camera offers a unique, sophisticated experience that encourages creativity and full concentration on your subject.

As a purely mechanical camera, the Leica M-A (Typ 127) doesn't rely on a monitor, exposure meter, or battery. Instead, it offers an elegant, tactile experience where you can read the shutter speed and aperture directly from the camera and lens. The delightful acoustic signature of the shutter release is a testament to the precision-engineered excellence that Leica is renowned for.

The stylish exterior of the Leica M-A is as timeless as the precision engineering hidden inside. The classic restraint of its design is emphasized by the deliberate omission of the Leica red dot, making it an ultimate expression of understatement. Viewed from the side, the M-A is noticeably slimmer than its digital counterparts, adding to its elegant appeal.

This camera is designed to work with 35mm film, with Kodak Tri-x 400 being a firm favorite for its exceptional sharpness, fine grain, distinctive tonal gradation, broad exposure latitude, and excellent shadow detail. This makes it an ideal choice for art and reportage photography.

Whether you're a professional photographer or a passionate hobbyist, the Leica M-A (Typ 127) 35mm Film Rangefinder Camera offers a unique, immersive experience that brings you closer to the art of photography. Please note that this is a body-only configuration and does not come with a lens.
