I bought this from one of the guys directly entangled in the Battle of Mogadishu! Better known as: BLACKHAWK DOWN I mentioned all of this as a backdrop for the Mark 8 / 3.5x25x w/H58 reticle. Yes, I know the H58 has been replaced with the H59?. HOWEVER, this scope has Real-Life, Real-Deal "WORK" on it! This scope has definitely done the job it was intended for! It sits atop the same .308 rifle setup as it came from & it performs flawlessly! This scope has the "Custom-M118LR" rings on it and Man-Alive they are so dialed in it is ridiculous! You can request Custom-Rings for yourself from Leupold just go to that Web page and fill out what you are looking for, they make a huge difference for solid spot-on first cold bore shots. Of course, First Cold-Bore Shots are an excellent gauge of a Sniper Rifle's performance? and this Leupold MK8 is so Dead-On it simply just puts a smile on your face every time I pull it out of the bag! I also use the exact same ammo it served with, the M118LR from the Lake City plant, which "Brandon" actually shut down civilian ability to purchase from that plant. (You can look that insanity up, as I don't care to waste time on it) The H58 & H59 are excellent reticles if that fits your rifles intention as they are truly made for a "WORK" rifle especially to hit "Movers" up to 60mph. I love the H58/59 Christmas Trees because I never have to touch my turret for the follow up shot - the reticle makes super-quick work out of the follow up shot! The Scope itself is Rock Solid and you could probably use it for a hammer if need be and it would still hold zero! The Turrets are NOT mushy at all & have very Solid-Clicks. Also, the protruding tab on the turret itself displays the second rotation, which is huge when having to "WORK" 2 or more zones so you never loose track of rotations. One thing I should mention is Low-Light usability, it is simply outstanding! Leupolds use of high quality len glass & coatings shows! I use this with a PS-28 and it shines through outstanding! I am sure the % transfer of light in this condition is far above just about any scope on the market. All in ALL comparing it to other scopes I have had the Luxury of using or owning the few scopes that come close did not hold up as well in the low light conditions. If you require extreme accuracy with your platform, simply start with Quality-Glass so you do not have to RE-Spend those $$$ upgrading to what you really need & want! WE have all done that and it gets a lot more expensive doing the Upgrade Jumble than just paying up front for the Good-Stuff! Rifles & ALL Equipment included in that! Get it to start with as this is a Lifetime scope that you can pass down as well! Cheers & here is to making, ALL of your 1st cold bore shots!

Target shooting; great scope; now I've turned 75 an additional power would not hurt. I have bought and used many scopes. Its now old news but Leupold did make some lens noticably more clear with some process (really).

Bought this scope direct from Leupold using their Fed/Mil program because I was active duty Army at the time. Received the scope with the windage, elevation, and illumination knobs being painfully mushy. I sent the scope in to Leupold Repair after I described the issue via email and they wanted to see the scope. They fixed the mushy turrets. However, they disrespectfully reassembled the scope leaving multiple fingerprints, smudges, and dust particles on the inside of the objective and ocular lenses. I sent it back in to Leupold Repair after describing the new issue. Once I received the scope back, the ocular lens was clean... but another lens in the objective assembly was now badly smudged. I asked for a full refund at that point and am currently waiting on my check in the mail, of which they gave me no tracking information and will not even verify has even been shipped. I will never do business with Leupold again.

Excellent scope. Quality is unbeatable. Not cheap but you get what you pay for. Lifetime warranty is hard to beat. Dead on once you have it sighted in. Make sure your scope has the correct ballistic match dial for your application. Mine was shipped with a 223/5.56 even though I ordered it for 308/7.62 AR10. Leupold sent me a replacement dial at no charge.

I mounted this scope on an M99 416 and the accuracy is simply stunning. I zeroed on a stationary clay pigeon at 500 yards, and then proceeded to hit one at 1000. My second time at the range I was doing a 1' group at a mile. It amazes me that the scope can dial in 134 tenths of a milli-radian just as precisely as smaller elevations, and the turret counts the clicks for me. #sweepstakes The only things I can suggest - the hex wrench that came with the scope does not fit the hex screws on the turret, either include the correct one or none at all. The numbers on the turret for 0-10 mil do not line up with 10-20 mil, if it was possible to align them it would make it even easier to dial in the right number by making a full rotation exactly 10 mils.

I had another brand of scope on my 7mm STW that I was having to sight in every time I took it out and it was driving me crazy. I upgraded big time to the Mark 8 tactical scope and I'm dialed in and hitting like never before. The quality of glass and the features built into this visionary scope is PERFECTION at its best. Leupold is all I'll buy now. I've owned other so called "high end" rifle scopes (never owned a Nightforce though) and this particular scope will allow me to comfortably make those long shots in excess of 800 yards.

I have one of this babies on top of my SCAR 17 and is the perfect compliment , I try a few other scopes from other major brands but all lack something. The moment I mounted this scope is like I super charged my SCAR, once you try one you will understand, I simply love this scope, the build quality, the simplicity, the intuitive nature of the controls and the feature rich design makes it a perfect scope for hunting, or triple gun competitions, I have done both with great results and satisfaction..thank you Leupold!

I recently went out shooting with my friends over at Radian Weapons and got to try this guy out. I loved it so much I went ahead and had to order one. For someone who enjoys reaching 300+ yards, but also needs the versatility of an any situation scope, this is at the top of its class. I am waiting on my AR build from the guys over at Radian, and when its finished I'll make sure to shoot some photos of the Mark 8 on it, and send them your way. Im a professional photographer/cinematogrpaher and always appreciate quality glass.

After putting a cheaper vortex on my ad I wasn't really a fan of the clarity or reticle. So I sold it and spent about 3 times as much on this beast. Although it was expensive. It was worth it. It tracks so well. And holds zero perfectly

Best long range scope I've used. Mounted this on both my .50BMG and SR25. I was able to ping at 500-600yds, but you can easily go further. Banged it up a good amount and it still works well, only had to replace the battery twice and they are cheap and easy to find.
