Like most, I've spent endless nights researching long-range scopes - glass, turrets, magnifications, low light, weight, size, plex, etc I get it! Just so you know where I'm coming from, I've shot and owned the NightForce NXS, Swarovski X5 and Z5, and Zeiss Conquest all of which were good; however, after shooting and hunting with the VX-6HD, I've now sold all of my other scopes. Great Product
I bought this scope to fit in top of my Weatherby Mark V for achieving longer distance elk hunting capability during late season in the Colorado scrub oaks. The weather is very cold in late December and the wind makes it worse. The scope performed flawlessly in these conditions and the images through the scope are clear/crisp. Before the hunt we sighted in the scope at elevation and with temps around 0 degrees, no issues with sight in at all with a few shots at 50 yards and the same at 100. W...

The VX-6HD is equipped with a new CDS-ZL2 dial that locks in place, preventing inadvertent rotation off its zero. With a simple button press, users can dial up elevation, up to 38 MOA if necessary. To further enhance its performance, this riflescope features an electronic reticle level for precise installation, a throw lever for quick magnification changes, and a robust erector system. It comes with Alumina flip-back lens covers and boasts a 2nd Generation Argon/Krypton Waterproofing system, which significantly reduces the effects of thermal shock and gas diffusion inside the scope.
The 30mm maintube, crafted from 6061-T6 aircraft quality aluminum, offers incredible strength and allows for a greater range of windage and elevation adjustment. The 6:1 zoom ratio ensures crystal clear images from edge-to-edge throughout the entire magnification range. The Twin Bias Spring Erector System, featuring beryllium/copper alloy leaf springs, provides 30% more holding force to withstand intense recoil and abuse.
The VX-6HD also features FireDot Illumination, a powered fiber optic reticle technology that provides optimal daylight illumination and light transmission for low light hunting situations. Its generous eyebox allows for quick target acquisition, even at higher powers, providing a full, clear sight picture that fills the eyepiece completely. The Guard-Ion rain shedding coating is durable, scratch-resistant, and effectively sheds water, dirt, and fingerprints.
The riflescope's proprietary MST (Motion Sensor Technology) automatically deactivates illumination after 5 minutes of inactivity, yet reactivates instantly as soon as any movement is detected. The reversible throw lever clamps onto the VX-6HD power selector, providing leverage for fast magnification changes, whether you're left or right-handed. The Twilight Max Light Management System ensures maximum light transmission, balancing colors for the highest possible contrast and controlling glare with special mechanical structures. This means you can see details in dark shadows long after the competition has packed up.
The Twin Bias Spring Erector System exerts up to 30 percent more holding force on the erector, virtually eliminating erector system backlash and stress on the vital internal workings of the scope, ensuring longer life. The Zero Lock Windage Adjustment prevents unintended adjustments and ensures an accurate return to zero, making this riflescope fast, easy to use, and reliable for every shot.
