The original LTO Tracker ("1st gen") has a reticle; they decided to neuter this thing by removing the reticle. It's a shame because IF it had a reticle it could have been an amazing product, but without it, its of little use to many of us. Leave it to Leupold to REMOVE a perfectly fine working feature on a 1st gen item with little to no reason other than being lame FUDDs. They have no provision for updating the firmware so they can't even patch in the ability to add a reticle... Never again will I buy a Leupold item.

Not to mention a long lifespan from battery designed for broad applicability and even aids public health and safety persons if used on the job or in home or n wild remote difficult terrain locations to follow injured animals or humans, which can be more easily located by those needing to search for them.I wish the neoprene slipcase was big enough to accept the nice lenscaps.if made into higher res big flashlight sized 4k or 1080p version which I personally hope becomes available, I am on the sweepstakes waitinglist. This monocular is clear and easily seen by user. Display, and IR IMAGESENSOR IR CCD parts used, lens material are awesome choices and I would invest in this corporation were i so leverage enabled...Love it use it more than I expected to, and will never go without one into the real wild ever. This thing is amazing. I was a little disappointed that the tracker 2 didn't have the "range" mode, but the beacon modes make up for that. I always look for an excuse to get the tracker out. Fun tool and very useful. #Sweepstakes

Great thermal monocular scope for hog hunting. Price is very reasonable. I would buy another, but sadly Leupold decided to abandon the thermal scope. If you can find one before they are call gone, buy it now.

The LTO tracker2 HD is exactly as advertised. You can see a man size signature clearly at 300 yards. The included end caps protect the sensor and screen great. The housing offers great protection for bumps. Fits in my coat pocket or cargo pocket great, a little large for pant pocket. I wish it had a Bluetooth 5.0 so it could connect to a phone or tablet screen. The three button operation is simple if you read the instructions. I hope the next model offers a 640x480 sensor for a more resolution at greater distance. #sweepstakes

I work in law enforcement. The LTO tracker2 is better than night vision, fits in my pocket. Has a nice metal body. Battery life is great, right around 3 hours on a single CR123. Start up time for the unit is 3 seconds. The screen is a bit small but has good resolution. Does exactly as advertised. You can see people and animals clearly out to 300 yards, you can tell whether a vehicle is hot or cold. I hope in the next model there will be Bluetooth 5.0 so you can link it to a phone or tablet and increase the resolution of the sensor to 640x480 for the same price as the Tracker2. But overall a great buy if you need to find someone hiding day or night.

in Law Enforcement we historically have tracked bad guys with flashlights in hand. We had a vehicle pursuit and the suspect foot bailed then went to ground. Using the Tracker HD we found him easily and did not have to use flashlights vastly reducing target ID on Deputies. A fabulous tool for LE!

I recently purchased both the HD and regular models. The HD model outperforms the non-HD version in terms of the picture quality, you don't have the pixelated image when zoomed in. However, this comes at the expense of the battery life. Simple solution, carry an additional CR123 battery and you're all set. I wish this came with a sheath to attach to my bag, but the lens covers were a welcomed surprise.

After a month of use, the Tracker 2 HD, is by far the best thermal unit I've ever seen in this price range. It exceeds the quality of several other more expensive units as well. locating and identifying animals at a few hundred yards is certainly not a problem. The functionality of the buttons is perfect. The menu's are extremely intuitive yet simple. You can pick this up for the first time and be a thermal imaging pro within a couple of minutes. I highly recommend. #sweepstakes

Thermal for animals around house and farm. Most importantly I use it for tracking once the blood trail no longer exists. The in timber ranger works perfect. A game changing tool for hunters.

So far this thing has been a game changer. I can see when to exit my blind. I can see seer bedded in the field 300 yards away. I have not gotten the chance to use it tracking. I did follow my dog in the house with it. Great product

I have bought this product as a night hunting support. It particularly meets my expectations but if it has some improvements it would be really a pretty equipment. The sensor quality is good. The refresh rate is average but sufficient for this device. Animal detection strictly depends on its size. For example it is possible to detect hare on up to 100 meters on clear field, roe-dear up to 150-200 meters, boar up to 200-250 meters. Perhaps it is connected with magnification. The picture is clear and detailed however the most clear view is up to 3x magnification. But I don't know if it is possible to expect more from digital zoom. The most weak point is power. One battery is enough for approximately 1,5 hour operating time only. The device shows low battery level although the remained battery condition is 86%-89% on professional battery tester. This I really expect a little bit more. It is inconvenient to change battery several times at night. To sum up, it's really a nice device which I would recommend because of the device's user friendly operating features. But suggest to improve power source solution and design any holder to make the user able to hang the device on neck for instance. During the hunting sometimes there is no time to put the device into the pocket and to put it down, like we do with binoculars, would be in my opinion more convenient.

I just received the HD Tracker 2 and had it out in the mountains for a few days. It is very sensitive and shows the contrast in temperature very well it will be valuable as the right tool for the specific job. There is a learning curve with this tool and I am still learning how to use the Beacon mode effectively. The different color choices are a nice touch. You just have to get use to dialing in the temperature sensors for the application of the specific task at hand.

I purchase this product for a variety of reasons but here are the main ones. -I will be using the thermals for tracking down deer. Anyone who bow hunts can understand just how difficult it can be to track down a deer when it sprints away when you hit it. The thermals have so far proven themselves to detect a small amount of heat. Whats even amazing it can detect trace heat signatures, the signatures stays for a few minutes but non the less very impressive. -Reason two was to spot Hogs when i go down to Texas and pig hunt. I've spoken to a lot of hunters down there and they've told me if your going to hunt Hogs its best to do it at night. I haven't done it yet but I've been driving around the county roads and i can spot deer from 50-70 yards away while I'm driving 60 mph. -Final reason i purchase this was for my work. I work in law enforcement and this will definitely help track down suspects, victims, or even vehicles that have their light off. Again I am highly pleased with this purchase and will be recommending this products to a lot of other people. Thank you again Leupold for such a fantastic product.
