Love my DPP. It may be sacrilege but I popped it onto to my 45 lever action. Target acquisition is now awesomer . I did notice Leupold made a change to the battery compartment lid. Maybe there were retainer issues.

Great Optic for Turkey Guns!

I have two of the DPP's mounted on shotguns that I use for turkey hunting. They were easy to install, zero and use. I've killed several turkeys using the DPP's mounted on shotguns which made getting on the birds easier for my older eyes.

This is my fourth Delta

This is my fourth Delta Point, meaning the fourth I am using on a different firearm. I shoot 3 Gun (open) and USPSA pistol and I have this dot on all three of my firearms for three gun. Primary on pistol, (2011) primary on shotgun (Dissident KL12) and secondary on my AR. I have shot them for years and they last, are durable, hold zero and are extremely reliable. I bought this most recent one as I have a training pistol now and I moving my rifle Delta point to the Grip Keeper trainer and mounting this new one on my AR.

The DPP is an outstanding

The DPP is an outstanding product. I used and evaluated several red dot sights from various manufacturers over a two year period, in training, practice and competition and this is by far my favorite. First, it has a pistol appropriate dot - 6 MOA. 2-3 MOA dots may make sense for certain applications but are unnecessarily small for the majority of pistol applications. The 6 MOA dot is readily picked up during presentation while still being small enough to aim accurately. Second, the lens size is large enough to facilitate fast dot acquisition during presentation- this is a huge deal and a huge shortcoming in smaller units. Finally, it's a Leupold. They're a solid American company and stand behind every optic they sell - forever. The only thing I don't love about this unit is the on/off/brightness switch. It's a little difficult to manipulate, especially with gloves. That's not a bad thing once you have it set because inadvertent changes are virtually impossible but the initial powering on and adjustment takes a little bit to get used to. Overall, a great optic and my favorite of all the ones I've used.

The dot is solid but the one button operation feels archaic. Especially with that button being in front of the emitter. I feel like about half the time I have to go all the way back around because I made one too many clicks on accident.

I bought this to replace

I bought this to replace my 6 MOA version that I purchased in late 2022. That optic has seen some rough use, from being dropped on concrete and gravel, to banged up in a vehicle. It has also endured over 10,000 rounds of 9mm on a pistol. I have all manner of optics from Sig, Trijicon, Holosun, and others. This is my absolute favorite pistol optic and my go-to on and off duty.

I have these dots on my G17 which I shoot IDPA with and have over 2000 rounds shooting my Glock. The dot holds true and is crisp at all brightness settings.
