Great clarity & lenses, but eye relief is to short
Leupold SX-2 Alpine HD 20-60x60
The good:
the clarity and the lenses are very good. A bright clear image.
The bad:
The eye relief is way to short. I have to put my eye all the way up to the eye piece - it is difficult to easily see the full view of the objective lens.
The zoom control is too stiff.
The eye piece cap falls off to easy. I lost mine in the first couple days.
It does not come with a carry case/bag.

I use my spotting scope
I use my spotting scope mostly for target shooting and sighting in. It is crystal clear at 100 yards and beyond. and has good light gathering ability that allows for shooting right up until dark. A great product!

Has not lived up to what I expected.
Not thrilled with this scope. I have regretted buying this over the Vortex I was going to buy. I have many other Vortex products and they have never let me down. I bought this one and only Leopold and it has disappointed me over and over. They brag about the clarity and I get nothing but blur at higher power. They talk about comfort and I find it less than comfortable. They talk about smooth adjustability and I found it cumbersome at best. The country I hunt doesn't offer a lot of long range glassing so I haven't even used it much and the one season I go to use it more than average and I can't see through the thing at all. Something is rattling around. i am pretty sure a prism came loose inside, and I think it scratched up the back side of the lens too. I am sending it in for warranty, but I once I get it back I will probably switch to something else.

Image Quality at 60X Isn't the Quality I Expected of Leupold
Having owned a cheaper spotting scope for a while, I thought I'd move up in quality to a Leupold and bought the SX-2. Unfortunately, the center image at 50X and higher was blurry. The only way to make out a bullet hole at 100 yards was to look at the perimeter of the ocular lens.
I returned the scope to Leupold. They sent me an email that they were going to replace it. The replacement was exactly as bad.

Replacement Dud
I purchased the SX-2 to replace another cheaper brand spotting scope I had for a few years. My cheap scope was blurry in the center at 60X. Well, the Leupold was very blurry in the center at 60X. They had me send it in and later emailed that it needed to be replaced.
Well, the replacement was no better at all. I was surprised at the poor quality. Seems Leupold hasn't anything better.

Great spotting scope for the
Great spotting scope for the cost. Ive used it on Mule Deer and Mountain Goat. Does exactly what I need it to do. I have used it for target shooting spotting and it is not quite crisp enough to easily pick out your shots without a high visual target at further distances. That being said it preforms well for hunting for the price and weight. Much better than many others near its price range.

There is no comparison between my old spotting scope and my Lieupold Sx-2. I can't even imagine how good the upper priced scopes would be.

This is my first spotting
This is my first spotting scope. Good clarity and crisp images for sure. My only knocks on it is that you really have to get up on the eye piece to see and the eyepiece cap is constantly falling off.

Has worked really well for me. I personally have had a tougher time focusing at higher power but can get it clear enough. Already looked at some nice deer and elk with it. I have been very pleased with my purchase.

After purchasing this scope and got it home I realized it is made in China. I would have never fathomed a Leupold product would be made anywhere but the US. This is my first and last Leupold I'm going back to Vortex.

Great spotting scope, lens clarity
Great spotting scope, lens clarity is amazing as always. Build quality seems to top notch as to be expected. I use these for glassing for wildlife in Alaska, no regrets with this purchase for sure!
