I mounted and sighted it in with ease. Great muzzleloader scope. Very good eye relief and clarity. Both shots I took were dead on during a very cold late season.

As always, Leupold glass is clear, gathers plenty of light, and the most lightweight on the market

I purchased this scope to mount on lever action rifle and it did not disappoint. Rugged housing, great glass, and above average light transmission makes this a great optic.

Haven't got to use it much other than to sight in my rifle. I have it sitting on a 338 win mag. Nice clear glass and looks great on the rifle.

I was very impressed with the quality of glass on this inexpensive scope. The optical clarity was clear edge to edge through the entire magnification range, and the eye box surprisingly forgiving. The reticle is one of the best available for scopes of this form factor. The elevation turret was crisp and tracked appropriately to the corrections however I wish there was more markings than just 0-3-6-9-12, making quick adjustments slightly easier than really having to pay attention to the dial. My other gripe is the lack of a hash mark for the windage turret to show reference to the adjustments being made. I know once the windage is set it will be capped and not used often, but I had to use the lines of my scope rings to have a clear marker of the starting/stopping point of the adjustments. I plan to shoot several different loads through this rifle, having recorded zero corrections, a hashmark to verify appropirate corrections would be very useful. Overall this scope surpassed my expectations and I would take this over other optics like Vortex or Maven in the price range. Several small changes could really make this a perfect 5/5 for the price.

Always preferred Leopold scopes/glass over other high end scopes. Even though priced moderately, Leopold didn't skimp on the quality/craftsmanship with this scope. I highly recommend it. Great scope, excellent glass and clarity.

Great scope! Adjustments always hold true. I "ran the square " when new & both weather extremes. Rock solid construction. Return to Zero is dependable, . 22rf & . 22mag!

My friend Barry a retired police officer strongly suggested this scope for my Winchester Xpert rifle in 21 Sharp. Leupold makes a great product and the warranty is exceptional in todays market. Mounted this rifle and even though its a 21 Sharp with low recoil its spot on.

The only trim, lightweight, sensible hunting scope left! I have one right now and hope to get a few more. Great eye relief ( both critical and non critical), perfect sized and actually useful dimensions, very clear; just really nothing like this 2-7x33 out there, anymore. The size of the eyepiece aids in low mounting, plenty of light transmission and clarity. Makes a decent replacement for the missing M8/FX 4x33 fixed power. Only negatives are the zoom ring is to large and aggressive, I much prefer the VX-1 and VX-2 zoom rings, and wish the windage and elevation housing was much less boxy and more rounded, like the VX-1/VX-2. Please don't ever discontinue this 2-7x33, Leupold!

Mounted on my M-1 Garand. Needs another 1/2 inch or so of eye relief to work properly at full magnification. Probably going to move this scope to my . 30-30, and look for something else for the Garand.

Great scope for 450 Bushmaster
By Shooter
Best bang for the buck scope for a 450 bushmaster used for Deer. I put a 3-9x freedom on a Ruger Gunsite 450 BM. I used the rear mounts not the front rail. 100 yard groups are under 1 inch. Bagged two bucks last year at 180 yards. If you hunt in lower Michigan where the shots are from 20- 200 yards this is all the scope you need. CDS is pre calibrated for Hornady 450BM ammo. All you have to do is establish a zero at 100 yards, set the scope on 0 lock the cap and its done. Good for up to ...

Astonished

The VX Freedom line of Leupold scopes is hands down the best optics value on the market. It's everything you'd expect of a Leupold; awesome reticle, clarity and brightness that is unmatched, sturdy yet light. I don't know how they do it for this price...I'll be buying many more.
The VX-Freedom 4-12x40mm delivers legendary Leupold performance and dependability in a versatile magnification range that's ideal for mid to longer-range shots. It's also equipped with the Leupold Custom Dial System (CDS), which gives you a customizable ballistics solution at your fingertips. This system is easy to install and even easier to use.
Built around Leupold's Advanced Optical System, the VX-Freedom delivers tried and true light transmission, best in class glare reduction in harsh light, and the resolution and clarity that recreational sportsmen and sportswomen demand.
The VX-Freedom is 100% waterproof and fogproof, and guaranteed to get the job done every time. And like all Leupold riflescopes, it's designed, machined, and assembled in the USA and guaranteed for life.
Features
3:1 Zoom Ratio
A 3:1 zoom ratio is very common in many scope models. It gives you 3 times more magnification at high power than at low power, so you can dial your power down for close encounters or all of the way up for long-range shots.
Custom Dial System Compatible
Leupold's Custom Dial System (CDS) gives you the ability to customize your turret (adjustment dial) to your exact ballistics and environmental conditions. Once your new custom dial is installed, simply range the target, turn the dial to that number, and aim dead on.
Lockable Eyepiece
A traditional eyepiece lock ring allows you to lock in a focus setting that is best for your eye.
Lightweight Aluminum Housing
Aluminum offers excellent durability and ruggedness without adding unnecessary weight.
Advanced Optical System
Leupold's Advanced Optical System offers tried and true light transmission for extended glassing sessions, best in class glare reduction in harsh light, and the resolution and clarity that recreational sportsmen and sportswomen demand.
Scratch Resistant Lenses
Hardened surface coatings are added to meet extreme military standards in scratch resistance and added lens protection.
Zero Stop
The ZeroStop system creates a backstop when returning the dial back to zero, so you don't accidently turn the dial a full revolution in the wrong direction.
Waterproof, Fogproof & Shockproof
Leupold pioneered modern waterproof and fogproof technology using advanced internal gasses and sealing methods that withstand extreme temperatures, elevation changes, and shocks, so the internals of the optics stay moisture free and crystal clear for life.
