My issues are with the case/strap set-up. Should be able to simply use binoculars with a strap rather than the entire harness set-up.

Awesome set

I was sent a pair of BX-2 Alpine 10x42 as a replacement for a pair of Cascades that I sent in for warranty repair. I was told that they couldn't fix the moisture issue in the Cascades and was sent the the Alpines. First issue is that I was sent a lower priced binoculars than what I had paid for my Cascades. Second issue, my Cascades were clearer than these and focused much better. In my opinion the BX-2 Alpines are a lesser quality binoculars than the Cascades that they replaced and after being a long time Leupold customer I will be looking for a new optics provider.

Not a equivalent replacement

These are an excellent value. I am a novice birder coming to these binoculars from Bushnell 8x42 wa 13 2000. The instructor in the birding course that I'm taking recommended 8x binoculars at this general price point, and Adorama offered these binoculars with the Leupold carrying case/harness for just a few bucks more than vendors offering the binoculars alone. Images are bright and focus is easy. I have not observed any fringing or chromatic aberration, though I'm still fairly new to these binoculars. Focus wheel is just right for me: smooth, easy to focus, but not sloppy. Center hinge is tight and holds well. 7.4 degree field of view made learning to use the binoculars a bit easier. Eye cups work well with my glasses and have click stops, though the right one seems to drift a bit on my pair. Caps for the objective lenses are snug and fit well, though one fell off one time in cold weather. One reviewer slammed the carrying case, but I like it, and think that hikers, hunters and birders who want binoculars handy without having them swing around too much would like the case/harness too. I do like the rapid release system on the case straps and the binocular harness. I could not be happier with this purchase.

Super nice Bino's for the price, Can't beat Leupold's quality. Even though these are made in China Still a great product, but please Leupold think about making these in the USA! I like the case but not much for the harness contraption, it's a pain to put on when getting ready to go afield in the early morning light, just a regular neck strap or add one to the case like the one you discontinued. I have that strap and just put it around my neck and carry the bino's, I don't have to deal with case trying to zip up my coat and having a mess on my chest. Not sure how many hunters but the bino's in and out of the case while hinting, the reason for just neck strap. But like I said "SUPER NICE BINO'S"

I want to start by saying that my only true comparison is to an older pair of Bushnell 10x40, With that being said, these binoculars are absolutely night and day. The clarity is amazing, they are lightweight, and were a great fit to my face right out of the box. My only feedback would be the binocular strap/case setup. While it is a bonus to have, the straps are thin and if trying to wear with bulkier cold weather gear, it is beyond a pain to use. I have been considering an aftermarket strap setup for mine due to this reason.
