The scope has a very
The scope has a very sturdy feel and the optics are clear. The 1x magnification is perfect for me at close engagements. No need for a separate red dot. The illumination on the scope is good for day use but it could use one more level of intensity for those rare occasions. Very happy with scope, thank you!

The Leupold Patrol 6HD with
The Leupold Patrol 6HD with the FireDot Duplex reticle is my favorite LPVO that I've ever used. It is extremely lightweight, and the FireDot Duplex reticle is daylight bright. I previously owned a Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6x24, which was also a great optic, but the Leupold is much lighter. I also previously owned a Leupold Patrol 6HD with the illuminated CMR2 reticle, but it wasn't daylight bright. Leupold uses a different illumination system for the FireDot Duplex reticle, and it is close to, if not equal to, the Vortex illuminated reticle. The other benefit with the Leupold is that it has a motion sensor detector, so it automatically turns on the illumination when you move it, which means it will always be ready when you are.

My last one had to

Have this optic now on two builds and considering trying it on something else! Very pleased, glass is clear, light transmission is excellent and I love this reticle - I hope Leupold expands on it and brings this reticle to FFP setup - maybe a 2x10?

Patrol HD 1-6x24 w/FireDot Duplex is perfect Low Power Variable Optic for AR-15. Super wide field of view on 1x. The FireDot is like a red dot - immediately draws your attention to aim point. High resolution, very bright scope. Best of all, a very lightweight scope compared to other LPVO in this class. Lightweight & compact, so it does not overwhelm or make top heavy the AR-15.

I was looking for an
I was looking for an lvpo for duty use. It had to have a generous eye box, with good eye relief, light weight, durable, a fast easy to understand illuminated reticle, and without exposed turrets.
I got almost everything i wanted with this model, and gambled with the locking turrets. It worked well in training and deployments, but I spent a week at a SWAT competition using this scope, and that was where it impressed me the most. Over and under obstacles, dropped, and struck off walls and vehicles while doing the challenges and the scope didnt move. I figured it would be the case with a leupold, but the gamble about the the locking turrets paid off...They didnt budge.

I researched LPVO's for months
I researched LPVO's for months and it came down to 2, the Patrol and the EOTech Vudu. This optic is AWESOME! I definitely made the right choice with the Patrol. Thanks again Leupold.

As usual, the optics are
As usual, the optics are very sharp. I have faith that the build is also extremely durable. My negatives is that the Elevation click adjustment is not very crisp. The Windage is "mushy". I was also surprised that the illuminated reticle does not work in daylight. At first I thought the scope was defective but reread the owners manual. Yeah, my fault, I should have read closer. I'm still deciding if the illuminated reticle is a deal breaker.

Just recently got approved to have a variable power scope, on our AR weapon systems. Several coworkers went with different name brands, but being I'm a "Leupold guy", purchased the Patrol 6 HD. Damn, I made the best decision, after looking through theirs!

Having experienced the push-button illumination, now, it would be a deal breaker. However, in all other aspects, a fantastic scope and representation of what I have come to expect from Leopold as a long-time customer.
I purchased this scope only because of the MARK 5HD 2-10X30 M5C3 FFP ILLUM. TMR was out of stock at the time. Regrettably, I have experienced some buyer's remorse. I am saving my nickels and dimes to transition to MARK 5 as soon as reasonably possible.

Do Not Purchase This Optic
Purchased this optic brand new for a DMR. Optic failed while zeroing. Would not hold a zero and became blurry on the max setting. Had to back the optic down to one power to reset the focus. Sent back to Leupold. They advised they had to rework adjustments and the erector system. I was told that was the system that makes the reticle go left, right, up and down. Customer Service was not what I expected from Leuplod. I could understand if the optic was used and abused over time, this was brand new out of the box. Recommend looking at other products or other companies.

Great optic! Well worth the price you won't be disappointed. The clarity is amazing and even with only 6X making precise shots out to distance is very easy. 1X is as close to a true 1X that I've seen in an LPVO and is great up close even though I have mine paired with an offset delta point pro. The illuminated part isn't extremely bright but since the reticle is etched it's not a big issue. Put this on a 14.5" BCM upper with a Scalarworks 1.93 and TREX arms offset mount. The reticle is set up for M855 with a 200 yard zero and works well. And the CDS dial is great as it is on all leupold scopes.

No illumination in daylight
I am a long time Leupold fan boy with a lifetime of their products in my safe including scopes, range finders, and red dots. For the life of me I can't understand why they sell this scope. For $1,600 it doesn't work in daylight. Nope, you read that correctly?..dusk and night it's great. You literally can't see the illumination during the day. I called tech support (love those guys?) who confirmed it can't be seen during bright sunshine. Major fail Leupold. Major fail. That should at least be noted up front in bold in the description.

I'm using the Patrol 6HD CMR2 on my patrol rifle. It has been a great addition. I have enjoyed it for close quarter room clearing as well as for medium to long range trainings.

I like everything about this
I like everything about this scope except the locking turret. It only locks at your zero. A redesign to make it push pull lock at any setting would be nice. Reticle is about perfect for both 1x thru 6x. Glass is great. The tension on the throw lever is just right. I prefer a turning dial for illumination but shake awake makes it not a big deal. Replaced my Swampfox with this and won't look back. Knocked it out of the park with this one.
