The Backcountry scope rings are great. Fit and finish of the rings are excellent as well as the hardware. These rings worked perfect with my new VX5 HD.

Rings worth the price.
Quality machining, solid hardware, great wear resistant coating. Doesn't matter how nice your scope is if your rings are trash. These are the furthest from trash you can get.

Bring back the Dual Dovetails
As other reviews have mentioned. I have no idea why you would discontinue the DD series. I have been using them for years. They are simple, clean looking, strong, and reliable. The best looking setup on a hunting rifle period in my opinion. You may want to rethink your decision and bring these back to your consumers. Less screws mean less worries.

For strength, stability, and flexibility
For strength, stability, and flexibility in positioning high magnification scopes like Leupold's VX-5 and VX-6 HDs for ideal eye relief, I'm yet to find a better combination than the Leupold Cross-Slot two-piece bases and Backcountry Cross-Slot Rings.

Have had a couple of sets so far and have been really impressed with the ease of installation, no need whatsoever to lap the rings at all(I did it anyway because it makes me feel better about the mounting job) had perfect ring alignment right out of the package. Holds scopes securely. Expensive but worth it. Why go cheap on the most important connection on your firearm? Great products from Leupold just like always. Will buy again.
