This AR-15 carry handle mount fits snuggly and provides a solid base for my optic system. I found through testing that it needed a couple changes to the existing design in order to accommodate my scope and rings. 
The first thing I noted was that the mount pointed my scope "downward" so far that the full range of adjustment 'up' was not enough to get the bullets to align with the "cross hairs". Using a laser and a wall about 60 yards away, I was able to fix this by laminating a series of thin brass shims into a sandwich about 0. 1" thick and bonded it under the front of the mount. I was then able to get the scope 'on paper' with plenty of vertical adjustment left over. 
The second change was to replace the knurled 1/4-20 UNC locking nut with a flat washer, split lock washer and hex nut. As the knurled finger-tight nut loosened (even after tightening with a wrench and applying Loctite), this more robust hardware does a better job of securing the scope-rings-mount assembly to the carry handle under operational loads.

This AR-15 carry handle mount

Just what I needed for a Gordon-inspired CAR-15 build. The only issue is that the screw bolting down the mount to the carry handle partially obstructs the channel to properly use the Iron sights. Use a little bit of thread locker to make sure the mount doesn't come loose.
