I have this mounted on a Yugo Bruno 8mm Mauser that I have sporterized and it has done wonderful things for the last 12 years unbelievable durability.... Clear as Crystal, groups sub 3" 5 rounds at 200 yards, never fogged up during cold hunts, never let me guessing at the distance I'm shooting, absolutely a work of art and technology... But it's no longer made ..... Why.... it must have worked too good and the original owners never needed to purchase a new one. I for one am still to this day thanking my self for pulling the trigger, and perchased this amazing optic that I know will out last me, and my son will start his own memories one day with Dad's Leopold. Thanks for at one time making a wonderful product. And I look forward to purchasing many more Leopold products for my other firearms.

I bought this scope to put on my custom Ruger 10/22. I replaced the OEM barrel and with a Green Mountain 20" fluted tapered barrel and a Hogue Overmolded stock. Paired with Leupold base/rings I have a real tack driver from 50 to 75 yards using CCI Mini-Mags. This scope was eventually replaced with the VX Freedom 2-7x33. Both scopes will deliver exceptional light transmission during the early morning and late evening hours.

A casual shooter who is getting into hunting so my expertise are limited but this is a great scope for the price. Its nice and lightweight with a crystal clear image that allows for later shooting than most scopes. I will definitely be looking into getting another Leupold scope. The scope has that classic look and the matte finish looks great.

Recently mqde the jump to my first quality optic and I couldnt be happier. The glass un this scope is unlike any other I've ever used and finding the sweet spot to get a full view through the back of the acope is easy to fine, unlike many cheaper scopes on the market. I have mine paired on a recently built AR15 and am able to shoot 4 in groups of 5 from 150 yards with no issues seeing my target. The oig plex reticle is a little corny but for the quality Leupold offers who even cares.

I put this scope on our meat getter. It was hard to find mounts for our old swiss ww2 era rifle... but in the end was able to put a combo together to get the 50mm tube mounted. Works great and puts dinner on the table.

This scope is crystal clear, and has good eye relief. I had it zeroed in less than five shots, and it has performed flawlessly. Shoots the same holes on all magnifications at 100 yards. You can't beat it for the money!

I have/had two scopes i bought 30 years ago. I sent them in for warranty work and got two new scopes. One was the vx2-1-4x20. I am very pleased with both replacement models. Leupold has always had the clearest vision of all the scopes i have tried in thier price range. I also have a 3.5x10x50 scope about twenty years old. Still great vision especially in low light situations.

This is one high powered scope great for long shots. Very clear glass. A great scope from Leupold. I can see my 223 cal. shot groups at a 100 meters no problem.

Have this scope on my AR in 6.8spc and it's amazing! The reticle is what makes this scope awesome! My dad wanted the same exact rifle. Built the gun and now the scope is discontinued!? Why would you do this ? Very disappointing . Very very disappointing!

I have owned two of these scopes over the last 12 years, the first I bought was used. I recently bought a new one and all I can say is this is the BEST scope I have ever owned ! I have also owned other major brands but Leupold is my choice by far. The warranty is outstanding ! The pic is at 100 yards, .223 Savage FP10. One more thing, while cleaning my rifle I knocked it off the bench onto the floor. It was about 3.5' off the floor and landed on the top turret. I thought I was going to have a stroke !. I took it to the range and it was only off one click on the elevation !!!! What else do I have to say !!!

Did the previous reviewer get a turkey of a 6-18X40 Vx2? My scope is probably one of my best Leupold scopes considering the money spent. This little 6-18X40 VX2 does 90% of what my 6.5-20X40 VX3 and 6.5-20X50 VXIII will do. Beautiful resolution and superb low light performance. Close to perfect length and tube dimensions allow mounting on Ruger 77 MKII's using low 1 inch Ruger rings. Every thing works well and use with a .243 W at our local range under tough cold, dim light, and windy conditions produced great results equal to more expensive scopes - I could see 6mm bullet holes @ 300 yards. Leupold service is 1st rate. The nice Leupold man responded to my email about target knob set screws by sending replacements that I received in 1 week.

I have just purchased from Bass Pro. I'm somewhat disappointed that the Cross Hairs don't agree with the Advertising and The Pic On The Box. Very Misleading " I was told the C/H would be thick and Exactly like advertised. NOT SO. Now 65 , purchased for Grand sons, They want know but I Do. Will corporate America ever change ? I'm a new first time Leupold owner. I bought my VX1 4-12x40mm to install on my new Savage bolt action 308 rifle. I've always wanted a Leupold scope based on their reputation for quality. I've only shot less that 100 rounds through the rifle, but am very impressed with the clarity of the optic. It gives me great confidence knowing I have a quality scope on my new rifle for hunting.

Purchased this Leupold scope well over ten years ago, and have been extremely pleased with the precise accuracy of this scope. Placed the VX-2 2-7X33 scope on a Remington 7600 using Millet rings. At the 100 yard line, using most any grain bullet, this scope will enter the black bulls eye each time (M.O.A - .25 -.75). Extremely clear optics, excellent at the outer edges, stable at zero, and highly durable. The dials are somewhat stiff in moving (Adjusting Windage & Elevation) but this is 'no' hindrance at all; none, as to the performance one receives in using the aforesaid Leupold scope. This is a top notch rifle scope, well worth the money, and we would certainly recommend Leupold as the benchmark of quality. I'm in the market for a 4 x 12 x 40 and the starting point is right here, "Leupold". Looking for a good price for quality is at a cost today. Thank you very much Leupold.

I've had this scope on my rifle for about 9 years now and love it! extremely clear, holds a zero like no other, and is durable to out last me by a long shot (and I'm only 22)! A couple of years ago I was hunting out of a stand that was built by the person I was hunting with. The rope on the stand was old and worn but I didn't think anything of it. After sitting for the morning, I went to lower my bag/ rifle down by the rope and the old rope broke. My prized rifle and scope fell 25 feet, hitting a small tree on the way down. It hit so hard that my big green Stanley thermos was dented from landing on top of the scope. After a trip to the gunsmith to ensure the rifle hadn't been damaged in some irreversible way, I went to the range to see if the scope had been damaged beyond repair. After all that, the rifle was only about 2 feet off target at 100 yards. Now that is allot, but after a dozen or so rounds to bring it back to zero, it was like it never happened. The scope and rifle still remains my first choice for any large game I hunt. The scope, to this day, even after all the abuse I have put it through, will hold its zero to the end.

I own a lot of rifle scopes. my 18x vx2 is by far my least favorite. My 14x vx3 is one of my most favorite. The vx2 has tons of eye relief but is the most unforgiving scope I've ever used. Low light performance is meh at best, clarity is not that great, and there is no clean cutoff if you move your eye from center, it just gets blurry. I love leupold products, but I hate this scope. Go with vx3 and you won't be disappointed.
