Really wanted the VX-3 handgun

Really wanted the VX-3 handgun scope but it seems to be on forever back order but I will not own any optic other than Leupold so I ordered the FX-II handgun scope for my Ruger Super Blackhawk hunter in 44 mag. I am a big fan of American made products! Shooting hand made cartridges with Hornady 240Gr XTP bullets at @1500 FPS I am getting consistent 3" groups @ 100 yards. The scope is holding up great with these full power loads. I am very pleased. Thanks again Leupold for another great optic!

DO NOT buy this scope for use on S&W 460 with 7.5" barrel

Purchased this scope at Fort Worth Cabela's for my S&W PERFORMANCE CENTER® MODEL 460XVR with 7.5" barrel. After first trip to the range the objective lens began to show signs of deterioration of the coating. Cabela's recommended adding a sun shade to extend scope beyond end of the muzzle brake. Have not been able to find a sun shade to fit this scope (Leupold does not make one). Leupold support was not help at all. Only recommendation is to move the scope as far rearward as possible (it's already there) or not use 460 Magnum. So no real solution. This is not the scope for this gun. Lesson learned. More research required. Maybe Vortex?

20/20 vision in the woods !

I have an FX-11 on my King Cobra and that makes it as dead on as the M8-4X is on my Anaconda. 4x powered scopes are perfect in the woods, if I can see them through the trees I'll be filling my fridge and freezer.
