It gets the job done but, like many others I've seen, the screw inside was way too ill-fitting to allow actual sighting through the mount. Nothing the dremel couldn't fix but obviously not how it was meant to be.

I used the Leupold Mark4

I used the Leupold Mark4 AR15/16 carry handle mount to mount a Leupold VX-Freedom 1.5-4X20 MOA-Ring scope to an old Bushmaster XM15-E2S A1 AR. The mount is a perfect fit in the carry handle and allows the use of the rifle iron sights. I used some blue Loctite on the nut and after about 400 rounds the mount is still secure in the carry handle. This was an excellent option using Leupold scope, mounts and carry handle mount to upgrade an old 1990's A1 type carry handle rifle. I own numerous Leupold products ranging from handgun RDS's, hunting scopes and mounts. The quality of the above products is consistent with what you would expect from Leupold products.

Well Built but Limited Iron Sight Aperture

The rail itself is solid and well engineered. I mounted on a fixed carry handle for a "retro CAR15" rifle, and the rail is hosting an Aimpoint PRO. The issue I had was with the aperture/hollow core for using the iron sights - the bolt head of the thumb screw protrudes up from the bottom of the aperture/tube and blocks about 25 percent of the view. I found it as an issue, and actually went to Home Depot and replaced the issued screw with "headless" set-screw to eliminate this blockage. Again - a quality manufactured product, just be aware of this facet. I am glad that it was constructed in a manner I could mitigate this issue (the factory thumb screw is removable).
