My favorite mount. With the
My favorite mount. With the extended or offset ring they work great on long action rifles. Scopes are getting shorter. (perception?) that 1/2 inch is the only way I can adjust eye releaf. The rails require a higher ring. That changes cheek weld.

Would like to thank the support of the staff for helping me in choosing the correct bases. I wasn't aware that my rifle was the FN version instead of just a '98 Mauser. I had no problem installing the mounts & rings and look great.

I have been using these
I have been using these Leupold steel scope bases and rings on most of my hunting rifles. The rear mount in conjunction with the pivoting front dovetail allows for adjustment to account for minor centerline deviation between the front and rear base mounting screw holes in the receiver. This will ensure that the alignment between the scope tube and scope rings are perfectly parallel along the bore axis and you won't "pinch" or distort the scope tube when tightening the scope rings. These are well made and finished very nicely. They impart that classic look on my hunting rifles and I have never experienced a failure of the bases or rings. Rock solid and once tightened up, will not move. Great products that can be trusted from Leupold always!!!

They bases didn't fit my jc Higgins model 50 so we're returned. I told the sales staff that they were for a fn actioned model 50 but on return he basically called me a liar. Done with leupold!!!
