Solid construction. Smooth focus. Clarity of the glass is very good. Small and compact, easily fit in my camera bag. Also, I clean it over running water :) For what it offers vs. price... 5*

We knew the Katmai was a good glass because we kept hearing people in the trade say this was a favorite of theirs. The quality is superb in this made in Japan binocular, it is light, strong, compact, and the clarity is superior. We have used it to whale watch on Maui and they are wonderful due to size,which we like for travel. You could spend more, but probably the gain in not worth the much greater cost, for most of us.
