Fine when hunting with dog. But clashes with my rifle when I carry the rifle over my chest

I got this because the neck strap on my binoculars gave me a sore neck on days that I went birding for a couple of hours or more. I tried these out over the thanksgiving weekend and loved them. They distribute the weight of my binoculars to my shoulders and they hold the binoculars firmly against my chest so they don't bounce around whe I walk. It's fast and easy to raise the binoculars to my eyes when I need to. I highly recommend these

I know the point of this is to hold binoculars or cameras so the noise of the clips running up and down the elastic straps shouldn't be a major consideration, but I want to be as quiet as possible when hunting, no matter how far away the game animal is. This strap is great otherwise. I used it to hold my Leupold BX1's during a 3-hour archery shoot and the binoculars were completely out of my way while shooting, weren't bouncing around my chest, and easily usable with one or both hands when needed. I am very happy overall, but I think having had the opportunity to compare them side-by-side, I may have stuck with a cheaper strap that I found at [@]. It's good to have a Leupold strap on the Leupold binoculars though.

This is the only strap of this design (I know of) that will adjust down small enough for my wife, yet will still adjust up enough for me. She uses it every weekend for wildlife / bird watching with her compact Nikon binoculars.

The slide buckle design allows the binoculars to move up and down without pulling on the straps.

The Leupold harness was purchased from Adorama because it is one of the few companies that handle this excellent item. Having surveyed virtually all of the various harnesses (which are all very similar in their concept) on the market, the Leupold has the edge in the means by which the binoculars/camera are attached to the harness. Rather than split rings, snap hooks and/or small loops of varying materials, the Leupold uses two-piece quick-release nylon snap connectors that are very secure. The first piece of the connector is easily attached by threading a woven nylon loop (sewn to the connector with leather) through each binocular/camera strap post, preventing any damage or excessive pressure on the post. The second piece slides easily along the harness strap. Unlike some I've tried, the harness adjusts easily to fit most individuals (the binoculars/camera may hang low on shorter persons; to bring the binoculars or camera to a higher position, the attachment loops can be shortened by putting a knot in each of the attachment loops)and also allows the slider buckles to be positioned so that they don't interfere with bringing up the binoculars/camera for viewing or when carrying a pack with shoulder straps. Note that the harness is made of a heavy-duty elastic material, which turned out to be relatively comfortable and capable of easily handling medium to large-size binoculars or cameras. The material is quite stiff with little flex, which is good. A bit of elasticity also seems to help steady the binoculars/camera. For long periods in the field, the harness does indeed take much of the pressure off the neck and transfers it onto the shoulders. Though black would have been preferred, the strap only appears to come in a dark brown color, which is not uncommon with Leupold products.

Leupold's X-treme Binocular Strap is designed to reduce fatigue by relieving thebinocular's weight from the neck and evenly distributing it across the back. The X-shaped design of the strap prevents swinging of the binocular, thereby keeping it out of the user's way. It also helps keep the binocular out of harm'sway in the field, preventing snags on brush, hard knocks on rocks and the like. In keeping the binocular close to the body, the strap ensures that it is close at hand, ready for use in those situations where the viewing opportunity lasts only a moment.
Fast-release clips on the strap allow it to be quickly and easily attached to and detached from the binocular.
