For PAL operation, it requires an external PAL black burst signal attached to the EXT REF input on the rear I/O.

It boasts an infinite timing range for each output set, i.e., Black and color bars, making it ideal for timing the signal into your studio facility. The front card edge LED displays H and V timing numbers for audit and confirmation, and two user-friendly push-button switches are used for "Select" and "Enter".

The 1199 SDI SMPTE Color Bar Generator is versatile, serving as either a master or slave generator in any system. It receives a reference black burst for timing purposes in Gen-lock mode or operates as a stand-alone without a reference input in free-running mode.
