What you have here is the 1261/1061, a high-quality analog video to serial digital (SDI) conversion module, complete with an integrated frame synchronizer. This unit is designed with 10 BIT processing, adhering to the highest broadcast standards for professional use.
This converter takes composite analog video and transforms it into 10-bit parallel data, which is then decoded into 4:2:2 digital component video. This process is achieved using cutting-edge design techniques, ensuring the highest quality conversion.
The 1261/1061 stands out with its dual video I/O signals. It can handle two independent analog inputs and convert them into two separate SDI outputs, labeled as Channels '1' & '2'. Essentially, this single card operates as two independent analog to SDI converters, providing A to D conversion.
An analog black reference input is included, offering independent timing for each of the two outputs. The H timing range is infinite, allowing for precise timing of signals into the system. In Gen0lock mode, the 1261/1061 automatically detects the reference format, whether it's NTSC or PAL.
In Free-running mode, the 1261 defaults to NTSC. To operate in PAL, an external PAL black burst signal must be fed into the EXT REF input. If the input signal is lost, the user has the option to freeze the last frame (four fields), black or SMPTE color bars.
The front panel of the 1261/1061 features a rotary encoder, allowing for adjustments of timing and phase for Channels '1' and '2'. The rear panel is designed to accept two analog video inputs and provides two SDI outputs for each input. A single BNC is included for black reference input, with an impedance of 75 ohms.
The front card edge showcases a 7 segment display, providing vital information about the operating performance. It also features two switches labeled as "menu" and "escape", along with a rotary encoder for system timing. The "menu" switch allows for channel selection and parameter adjustment, while the rotary encoder is used to navigate through various settings in each channel and make necessary adjustments. The "escape" switch helps to revert to the previous menu item. The menu selections can be used bi-directionally, ensuring ease of setup.
In summary, the 1261/1061 analog video to SDI converter with frame sync is a professional-grade tool, designed for precise, high-quality video conversion.
