Have had constant problems with the machine intermittently not booting, almost since the day I bought it. Many phone calls, techs to my house to replace parts, sent to the depot, still the machine is unreliable. This is both a failure of the device and of the "premier support" customer service, who have been friendly but have wasted so much of my time trying things over YEARS that did not work. It's been a real struggle buying an expensive laptop and having it not be reliable.

I had other brands, some maybe prettier than this one by the looks of it, but this laptop truly beats all of them for durability, battery, performance and weight!

So far it is doing everything I would expect of it. I thought I had ordered a touchscreen but sadly for me it was not.I had put in my specifications and when I got notice it was on sale, I bought only to receive it and discover the great sale was because it is not a touch screen. Other than that It serves its purpose.

Title says it all. Great machine, great monitor, appropriate performance for a business machine. However, I've had important windows close due to the sensitivity of the touch pad. I'm willing to overlook that, however, for the ability to work on my patio nearly a full workday on battery.

I've used Lenovo ThinkPads for over 8 years and have generally been staisfied with them. I purchased the X1 Carbon Gen 9 about 10 months ago and hve recently noticed a significant issue with the battery not charging. A couple days ago it would not charge at all. I contacted service and luckily it was still under warranty. I had purchased in home repair but the battery is back-ordered and I am now left with a dead laptop for a week. This is not the type of service or reliability I have expereinced with Lenovo before.

I went through two of these machines at work in a relatively short period of time. You can not use both charge ports at the same time, because if you do it fries the motherboard!! Stay away from Gen 9!!

I upgraded from my old carbon x1 gen 6 to this one. Overall very stable and impressive performance. Super light weight just like gen 6. I like the addition of the camera cover. The only compaint I have is the front camera seems to have lower video quality than gen 6.

After one year, the keyboard, touchpad, internal screen failed (Totally failed, not detected by the system). (But the external monitors and keyboard/mouse work properly). The keyboard, touchpad, internal screen failed after some vibrations (e.g., take the laptop out). Then they might work again after several minutes. Very strange problem and bad reliability for a 1-year-old laptop.

It is so thin and lightweight. It makes my previous laptop seem like I was carrying around a stone tablet. I love how fast it is and was recommend this specific one from my son who is a software engineer.

This is our third Lenovo device and we have not had a bit of problem with any of them. We are in the process of replacing many of our electronics and Lenovo has been the brand we turn to first. Very pleased with the quality, speed of delivery, and price.

I'm struggling to write this review. I purchased this fully spec'd out Gen 9 in August of 21. I am a road warrior executive that lives on his laptop. I fell in love with the Lenovo a very long time ago. We have adopted the Lenovo as our "Go-To" in house laptop that all employees receive when they are hired. They are exceptional machines. When ordering this laptop I knew I wanted something fully spec'd out that would last awhile. I am a road warrior that does not do a lot -- by no means I'm no power user. At most have 2-3 normal apps open for email, music, and some customer data. This laptop from day 1 - would only last 2-3 hours a day. 2 years later I'm unable to get even an hour and a half. It pains me to write this because plugged in - it's amazing. Regardless, I made the decision last week I could no longer work in with this pressure of always having to be near a plug. I cheated in IBM and purchased a Surface Pro 9. I'm on my 3rd day with no charge, doing the exact same work load. I would easily switch back if they can figure out their battery issues. Do not believe any review that says all day battery life, it's simply not true. At first I thought it was a defective laptop, but all 10 from the order this one came from have the same issues. I really hope in the next few years Lenovo can figure it out. Battery life is important.

I was looking for the perfect laptop to dual boot. And I dont regret my decision on buying this laptop. It performance excellent on windows and ubuntu. Really happy with my purchase. Only problem seems to be with the fingerprint reader that it sometimes doesn't work.
