If sleep mode is selected it requires forced restart by pressing the pin under the laptop. I have to keep a paperclip with the laptop at all times to turn on in case it automatically goes into sleep mode.

The only feature missing that I expect in a high end (but low power) laptop today is an Ethernet port faster than 1 gigabit. A 2.5 gigabit port would not raise costs by much but would greatly increase speed when joined to a Windows domain and file server locally. Other than that, it's a sweet laptop. It's fast and compact and lightweight, the screen and keyboard are decent, and it has all the ports I need. A 2.5 gigabit port can be provided by a USB4 dock albeit there aren't really good reliable USB4 docks out there yet, but that's not Lenovo's fault.

I really like the size and weight. I was confused at the placement of the function and control keys. I found a setting that switches them which fixed the problem. It's fast and intuitive. I'm used to using ThinkPads and this doesn't disappoint.

Excellent hardware! with AMD CPU's have a lower TDP than Intel and run their DDR5 at higher frequencies you get great performance.

There's a lot to like about this laptop: The OLED screen is gorgeous, the matte screen makes it a pleasure to work under all lighting conditions, the keyboard is such a joy to type on. Build quality feels great! However, the battery life isn't that great. I wanted to use this with a Linux OS primarily. Initially installed ElementaryOS and was getting 3 - 4 hours of battery life despite using Power Efficiency mode. Switched to Ubuntu 24 and it improved battery life by around an hour. I wish they had the option to install a larger battery or some sort of BIOS config to configure the TDP of the processor - the 7840U does support configurable TDP. Sadly had to return because the battery life wasn't enough for me.

This is my first AMD computer. I got it for work tasks, but I also want to utilize it with some graphic design and video software. So far, it has been a great machine. I have not run into any issues with it. It runs smoothly and quickly and can handle all the tasks I give it. The 2.8k screen is beautiful to work with, and the lightweight portability makes it easy to carry around in a backpack. I am very happy with my purchase.

**Full Disclosure**: I am just an average computer user! I saw a lot of professionals commenting on this model, but a real lack of recreational users. My uses include email, web surfing, Sketchup and running simple programs for my business. I LOVE THIS COMPUTER! I even love the keyboard and track pad, which is wild because historically I always bought an external keyboard and mouse. Maybe I bought a Ferrari to do the job of a Corolla? I don't know. I don't care. I love it, and it performs better than anything that I have owned previously by a long shot. 10/10

This is an excellent laptop! I have used only three laptops for any considerable time in my life, a Thinkpad T400, which ran well for over seven years, a T460, which still runs perfectly after eight years, and a Dell Vostro which was given from my office for about four years. Then I have handled Macbooks, Asus, Acer, and HP laptops for short periods for work. From those experiences, I had decided never to buy anything other than a Thinkpad, ever. In 2024, I needed a 64 GB-RAM laptop for genomic analysis, and I found this P14s offer. I am so happy to receive the same Thinkpad quality, ruggedness, and black aesthetics. I am surprised how well this helps me with my work, or maybe I am not surprised, given my 16-years experience using Thinkpads. This is a cool laptop if you take you are a researcher.

Very happy I replaced my XPS15 with this Thinkpad. Better build quality, keyboard, touchpad, and unlike my XPS it reliably wakes from hibernation. Weighs less, and ethernet port saves carrying a dongle.
