It’s a nice addition to the laptop. Something nice to keep on the desk and dock it when needed. Easy to charge and forget about it, not worry about cords. Few outputs if you wanna make a command station out of it.

I’ve been a user of Lenovo products for some time now, and have found their line of PC’s and related equipment to be efficient and reliable.

Asked Lenovo sales rep on the phone if this dock was compatible with X-1 Carbon Gen 7. "Absolutely" says he. WRONG. Had to return

The Dock works well for the price. Has a small lock to prevent laptop from being removed but that is pretty cheap hence the 4 stars. Otherwise works as advertised happy with the purchase.

I got this ultra dock because it was only $25 more to add to my purchase of a Lenovo T470. I’ve only used it a little, but it has worked great so far.

It works as advertised. With a dock, you want it to be seamless and unnoticed. It does both. Monitors, Ethernet, power supply all in plug

It is a dock, however this version will NOT supply power to your laptop. Not sure why you have a powered dock without providing power to the laptop but they do. Had to return this version and get the one that does.

The 90W Ultra Dock lets me maximize the functionality of my home office by letting me have multiple monitors, a free-standing keyboard and mouse, which ends up being a better arrangement than I have in my office at work. The Lenovo personnel at their call center were extremely helpful and worked with me to ensure that I purchased the appropriate dock for my office laptop. I have decided that I will go back to Lenovo when I replace my home computer because of this experience.

Does not charge the laptop, you still use your separate charger. Video flickers on and off.

Compact but did not meet my needs. Expected it to power my computer like one from [another company] for my work computer. Alas, I returned it and bought the workstation dock instead.

I'm a real believer in docking stations for Laptops. My laptop does double duty as my desk machine, with a full size keyboard, a trackball, a large monitor, and a couple of external hard drives. I use this Ultra Dock with my new Thinkpad P52. My previous machine was a Lenovo W530, with it's own special dock. I like this new Ultra Dock better because I can raise the laptop up on some spacers to allow better air circulation and cooling. My only complaint is that unlike the W530 dock, there is no power switch the Ultra Dock to turn the P52 on and off.

This docking station is built well, and has all the necessary inputs to make a smooth connection with the laptop. There have been no issues with reliability, giving us a trusted feeling that we can rely on.

Best feature of the dock is that it doesn't take up a lot of space - which is great for a desk. BUT, it is disappointing that the dock doesn't charge the laptop, so you have to leave the computer plugged in. I purchase an extra charger to work around this, so it's not the end of the world. Note that this dock doesn't support the hookup of two monitors. It's not a problem for me, but I know some people require that setup.

Am very glad I purchased this along with the laptop. I use a docking station at work and knew that my home office would be much more efficient with a docking station. I now have my new personal computer tied into my printer, monitors and sound system. Very pleased.

Works, but seems very old school. With the expansion port on the bottom of my ThinkPad, the docking station forces the laptop to sit up higher, angled down, and the laptop doesn't way enough to actually touch the table while it's in the dock sitting at an angle. My palms force the laptop front edge to the table, but that twists the whole laptop when I only have one palm at a time. Not ideal. I suppose older laptops that weight 4 lbs or more didn't have this problem. Lenovo's newer style dock is much more like HP's where the dock connector is on the side and alleviates this problem. The laptop also doesn't seem to lock well into the dock and is loose. Finally the laptop doesn't always change to projector screen only so it tried to show both the main laptop screen and the HDMI monitor plugged into the dock. It should default to dock only, but I'm hoping this is just a setting in the bios somewhere.

Works great for what it is intended to do
By Webjunky
This dock is not intended, nor designed, to charge your laptop. Giving it 1 star because you want to use it in a way it was not designed is non-sensical. It's like buying an Apple TV or ROKU and complaining that it doesn't power your TV. It's not designed to do that! There are other Lenovo docks that will do display, and USB connections, AND charge your laptop if you have the proper model to support the single plug. Otherwise, you need a power cord. For those working between home and office,...

Works Great!
By TheTech
For the life of me I can't understand why ANYONE would think that a USB-connected dock would also charge their laptop. There's no way that a USB connection could carry enough juice to charge a workstation. Your cell phone, sure, but not a full blown computer. Why people rate this device so poorly based on this is beyond me. In any case, this dock works great with the E-Series laptops that don't have the ThinkPad docking port (which WOULD charge your laptop, FYI. Enables multiple monitors, lot...
