We have several of these. The Universal is much better than the Smart. Unless you have 100 of these managed by IT, get the Universal.

Not compatible with all laptops

This is not compatible with certain laptops. That is fine, but since I bought my laptop and the doc station on Lenovo site, it would have been nice if it would have provided a warning or not let me purchase an incompatible item. I had to return it and purchase a different one.

Worked great, one port DOA

Amazing - love the small form factor and that I can mount it on the wall as well as the multiple inputs. However one DisplayPort was DOA and even after software updates and changing cables multiple times would not work.

Reliable Docking hub, Easy Connection

The hub itself it really good. Easy plug &play. Wish I didn't need it but the lightning port Lenovo monitor with built in hub that I recently purchased stopped working. Since that was an Amazon purchase, no warranty. But the universal hub made up for it and I'm back in business.

Reliable Dock

Reliable dock that allows me to control the power from the unit itself, which is convenient as I like to keep my laptop closed. More than enough ports to allow me to add multiple display and numerous accessories. Ideally, would like a longer cable to be included as the included short one limits where I can place my laptop in my workspace.
