It is fast. Adobe CS6 runs quickly and the graphics are great. I love the size and construction.

I bought this laptop as a replacement for a lenovo ideapad y550p. This i the one I use all day long for both work and personal stuff. At work i mainly use excel the whole day long to report information from some (quite big) databases and for personal use I use it to dj using Traktor. The good things: Very impressive specs specially for the price tag (better hardware than most macbook pros for less than half the price) Looks quite nice (yes they did copy the macbook). It is very portable The bad things: Windows 8 - This thing crashes all the time. The touchpad driver will crash when you open MS Office (confirmed bug, there is a bunch of people complaining about this) After two days using it very lightly it showed an error after which it crashed awfully. Now it only boots to a black screen that says nothing. Since they no longer provide recovery cds, I am now trying to recover it for myself. (aparently this is also happening other people, it has something to do with a corrupted UAC) The touchpad is pretty uncomfortable to use, i feel it doesn't ever do what I want it to do. The screen is ok (just ok), and the vertical viewing angle is very narrow (if you tilt a bit the screen images start to fade). Bottom line: this would be a great computer... if it came with windows 7 instead of windows 8

here are the results with the U410 : it performs simultaneously my "mobile" DAW, my daily VM (linux), Office 2010 and allows me to stream videos with a wifi connexion. At this price, there is no competitors.

I am a student and I use the laptop to take note and browse the web. I love its light weight and its fast processing. The cons of this laptop are wifi are problems as discussed in many forum and also the mouse pad gets in the way of typing. Also the quick switches between screen and page up/down with finger signals on the mouse pad don't work sometime unless I restart the computer. I also don't like the keyboard design that so mimic Apple but then don't have the backlight (my suggestion to Lenovo is to either completely mimic Apple and do it better or just don't resemble Apple keyboard at all). The price and what you get out of is worth to buy this laptop.
