An affordable substitute for Surface Pro

For ~($) less, you get an M7/8GB/256GB spec tablet, as compared with M3/4GB/128G Surface Pro. This really sounds a good bargain. I have had a SP3 i5 4200U for less than a year, at work. I can tell you that user experience with these two are similar. Yes, I know I'm not comparing the same generation of products. But SP did not change that much, after all. Build quality of IdeaPad is really where it lags. The tablet I have is made of decent quality material. (not as good as SP, though) But there is a small crevice ~3/4inch long between the digitizer glass and the metal case on the left side, no matter how hard you press it, the two piece will not stick together seamlessly. It justified the product being in the IdeaPad line, not ThinkPad. The best thing I like about the IdeaPad is the dual purpose USB 2.0 port, which you cannot find anywhere else with other major brands. And this really gives you a lot freedom when you need some productivity. Overall, I'm happy with the price I paid. But if you are expecting same level of quality as SurfacePro, just spend ($)+ more and buy yourself a SurfacePro.

Very good alternation for surface pro at half price.

This is a really good alternation for surface pro 3 or 4. Processor is good enough to handle Photoshop. Screen looks good. Battery life is OK with 6 Hour internet surfing. Design is stylish. Only problem I have is occasionally chrome stops response for a few seconds.

Has Issues

I've been wanting a 2-in-1 Laptop/tablet for a while and was excited about this one. That excitement was short lived, though. The 1st issue was trying to personalize some of the "settings", it crashed 3 times. So I just left them at factory default and made a restore point once I got everything set up. The next issue is the mouse, it's just not very smooth. And scrolling up and down on a page can be frustrating. I've had a lot of computers over the years and this is like no other I've had, in a BAD way. Next on the list is my Gmail, none of the images pop up on any emails. Again, I have 5 other devices running my Gmail with no problems. Gmail's easy to set up, but something just isn't right. Lastly their support, BAD is being nice. I talked to 3 different technicians(if that's what you want to call them), transferred to the wrong department, all to find out my brand new computer DOES NOT have free tech support. It's ($) for a year or ($) for a 1 time fix. Wow, yet again that's just NOT right. Well that's it, bottom line there's a reason HP and Dell are leaders in the market.
