i bought the s340 with i7 / stock 256gb / stock 8g ram for maybe $300 shelled out money for a 1tb ssd and 16g of ram (4 is already soldiered to the board installed win10 ltsc 2021 i've been using it for years for various purposes (work, school, gaming) and it runs wonderfully, aside from the fact that the screws are rather easy to strip. the aesthetics are nice, nothing has really went wrong with the system inherently, aside from user error. i love this laptop and would definitely buy another if given the chance!

Bought an S340 (14'') in Feb 2020, and since then, I have sent in the laptop twice for webcam replacements and once for a wifi card replacement. I have never dropped or otherwise handled this laptop roughly. Now, the warranty is over, and the camera is again facing issues and the wifi reception has slowed again. Lenovo should be compensating me for the time and energy lost on repairs that did not help.

I brought this laptop for about 2 years. It worked well for a full year but after that it starts to fall apart. As a budget type laptop, the performance and its feature is indeed decent and the cost considered okay. But the problem is its sturdiness. Since its essential for college, I have to constantly carry it around for all sorts of purpose. So after a year, it starts to fall apart. The areas for the screws totally broke off. The places where it holds the moving parts of the screen in place also broke because the quality of the plastic is too poor and brittle. Right now the laptop is barely usable as I can no longer carry it around. Even the parts where it holds the screen is broken.

Great laptop for the price range. I use for simple, everyday tasks like researching, streaming, and a little gaming. The solid state hard drive is a game changer in terms of speed. Overall I have been very pleased with it.

I have had this laptop for just a tiny bit over a year. Activated everything 1/04/20. It locks, its very slow... extremely slow.. I thought the keypad was lit.. it's not. It is NOT ok in this day and time to sell a faulty product. I run a business and this laptop is useless to me! I messaged the Lenovo team on twitter. They sent a bunch of links and gave no concrete help. People lost their jobs and trying to rebuild their lives. Someone taking the time to invest in your product is a big deal when money is tight! The other day I needed to complete a business transaction that should have taken 2-5 minutes with a solid working computer. This thing ( this laptop() was spinning for 2 hours. The screen was white, then black.. then it locked. And just a note, I keep all files on a thumb drive... I do not have an apps or play games.. This laptop .... I could throw it out the window and stomp on it if I could afford a new one! You should be ashamed of yourselves for selling such a product!

I bought this a while ago but have had enough of this . Slow and unresponsive right from the beginning. I should have returned it right away. I regret it. ABSOLUTE SLOW UNRESPONSIVE CRAP. Loses wifi and need to reboot it often. Next laptop will not be a Lenovo. BUY SOMETHING ELSE

Great laptop for work and school, the only negative side effect is that the battery life is subpar. Usually can only go a couple hours with use.

Consumers considering the review I am writing about my new Lenovo S340 Ideapad might give more interest to my review knowing that while I would like to win the Lenovo Tab M10, I already have the Apple Mini4 and the Digital2 tablets so my review is less influenced by wanting to win and more influenced by my true feelings about my new Lenovo S340, however, if I find that the Lenovo Tab M10 will show the outer icons on ZOOM, as a college student relying on ZOOM classes currently, which I have yet to find a tablet that would, I might become more of a salesperson and less of a consumer advocate. I was not unhappy to find that my new Lenovo S340 did not have a cd/dvd drawer as cd/dvd adapters are not expensive, I acquired one. I was happy to find the beautiful sharp color presentation and that the picture seems to be as large as the picture on bigger, bulkier, laptops. It is very important for me to tell prospective purchasers that if they already have Microsoft Office 365, they should UNINSTALL the trial 365 that comes in the S340. Once I did that I was able to do everything that I have previously done on superior laptops that were not a chromebook. Prospective purchasers should be advised that there is no reason to fear lack of performance in the S340 where other chromebooks might be limited, the S340 will no doubt do everything needed in my opinion as it has 2 ports for USB flash drives so there is no need to feel limited to having to save your work in the cloud. The S340 is advanced and may take you some time to get used to, but, I also have access to an expensive MacBook and as a college student who is required to use Powerpoint, Excell, Access, and Word, I have yet to find something that my S340 will not do in comparison. Consumers already know that Apple customer service is great, and from this current Lenovo experience I feel that Lenovo intends to also keep a good name, with the resource of having the IBM company to back them up, this intention is not unrealistic. I would advise consumers to get used to your new S340 before wanting to return it for an older simpler laptop because once you do you will like it, it is much like learning to go from PC to MacBook, it may take awhile if you have been on Windows for a long period. At the present time the Better Business Bureau is getting a flood of complaints about being snubbed by Best Buy and their new curbside Covid-19 policies. I highly expect both Lenovo and Apple to start providing ZOOM classes for new purchasers and I am giving an example to show that consumers are no longer getting expert computer support as they had come to rely on from Best Buy, I first went to Best Buy before asking Lenovo for help and was stopped at the door and told that I needed an appointment. A nice looking young lady drove up in a Mercedes wearing the ladies $25,000 Rolex Lady President and said that she wanted to make a purchase that I already knew to be over $2500.00. She was stopped at the door and asked if she would need help in setting her computer up, she replied that she would since computers are constantly improving. The Best Buy SPT told her that she would need an appointment. She was frustrated and replied, "well I might as well just go ahead and buy it online" and they agreed. From 1986 the computer changes at the major New York department store I worked for kept me and the other salespeople having to readjust to a new system every few months, I expect the S340 is the latest update for a long time. I will tell Lenovo that I will be happy for any consumer to contact me about the S340 as I am finding it to be great. Jerry C.

I purchased the IdeaPad S340 on 7/13/2020 to use as a backup for work. This is the worst laptop I have ever owned. I have purchased lower end models of different brands for less money that have lasted 2-3 years and then started acting like this laptop has been acting for over a month now. Super slow performance, multiple crashes and the underside gets hot when in use. Would not recommend if planning to use for work, school or a backup to either. Perhaps for very light use, but even so, I would choose a lower priced model of an alternate brand. If I could get my money back and choose another brand, I would.

I went through a few Dells and other laptops before buying a Lenovo Idea Pad S340 more than a year ago. Works great, no issues - and it takes a beating.

I love my new laptop! It is much faster than my previous laptop and this one can do video conferencing with no issues. Internet connectivity has been great too! I am not losing connection like with my old one. I love the soft and backlit keyboard. It was more expensive than my intended budget by $200 but definitely worth it! So far it is living up to my expectations!

The laptop is really confortable to use and set but the battery discharge too fast when is not connected. That's the only problem with it. For me it's fine because use it mainly for entertainment but for long time proyects it has to be connected all the time. Otherwise I am happy with it.

What good about Idea Pad S340 is having a physical privacy shutter, slimmer frame and Full HD resolution with an anti-glare finish. But the device's speed is somehow limited and the battery life is not promising.

What I liked: - Weight is okay, not too bulky. - Speed is good. - Combination of SSD and HDD is a good feature. - Backlit keyboard option is useful - Extended warranty option seems worth What could have been better at this price range: - I expected a better screen brightness and battery life from a 60k+ laptop. - Most of the times I have to push brightness all the way to 100% and it still feels a little dull. - Battery life is between 4 to 4.5hrs at moderate usage, no heavy graphics. Annoying features/bugs identified so far: - Power button light start blinking even when laptop has 1.5+hrs of battery left. - Screen dims automatically even thought feature is turned off. Not sure if it is Win10 bug or fault in the laptop - Type C USB doesnt support earphones with mic. It only works for listening to audio, cant use it for meetings/chat. I tried using my Samsung Note 10 AKG Type C earphones, but it failed with error "not enough resources".

Recently and the first time I am using Lenovo IdeaPad S340-15IIL - 15.6" - Core i5 10th Generation version. It is really an amazing experience for me because this laptop is super-fast boot time is only 3.5 seconds and also Shut down time. Can u imagine how fast it is? Battery backup is up to 7 hours+ depends on moderate use. I do not find any heat and lagging issues. moreover, I have taken expert opinion about it and found that nowadays only Lenovo Laptop provides such a premium quality at an affordable cost. Design is attractive and builds quality feels a premium impression. that's why my 3 years daughter said suddenly "your new laptop is very beautiful". Finally, I am very happy with my new Lenovo IdeaPad S340, so you can try also.

I bought the IdeaPad S349 to use for my upcoming college experience, as a laptop is vital for a Computer Science major. So far, I have been using this laptop daily for about a month, and I can say that I am pleased with it. Some of its strengths are its long battery life (more than enough to get through a full day's use), sleek and thin design, which makes it ideal for day to day transport in a college campus, thin bezels, which makes for an open and modern screen, and its performance. I have not experienced any lagging or freezing when web browsing and the IDE applications I've been running in order to code have been quick and smooth. The only downside I could say is that the screen does not get very bright, even at the maximum settings. I have not yet tested its outdoor use, but I suspect it might be a bit hard to see. However, indoor use has been mostly fine. As a rising college student, I would recommend the IdeaPad S340 to other students. With the relatively low price, this laptop is a great purchase since you get a great bang for your buck.

Fast and has good storage. However the battery life is not great. The power drains quickly making it necessary to keep it plugged in when using it for a few hours.

Good day team ! I am here not too much to elaborate, but my plan to buy 16 GB,with 1TB touch laptop from lenovo family only,so i reviewed a lot from the lenovo site but unfortunately due to this covid i temporary layed off from the job (of june month) ,that time i am not able to spend that much amount and all, but i need a personal laptop so i verified thoroughly with lenovo and other sites (also friends)and compared the prices and features with other laptops, i have got this to mind and i fixed to buy the ideapad s340 model which is having almost all the features (includes-:back light and cam),with the best price (best-buy-canada). As per my analysis laptop is good for me (it is for office purpose only, computer programming), and coming to entertainment there has good dolby sound ,screen, laptop bit weight but ok over all good, and battery backup also good(fast charging, keyboard also good), i think if we bit focus more on laptop frame.--> not screen,a bit thin and sleek. i think it should be a bit attractive ,other than all good. i would more happy.and also there is enough space on key board spacious . anyway for my price and all it's; worth for ...(and also i am using office laptop thinkPad-t490 which is also super) , Any way i got back to my work from temporary layoff. thanks to lenovo...

I really like my IdeaPad S340
By tamnosbig
I've had the IdeaPad S340 for a couple of weeks now and really enjoying it. It boots fast, the number keypad layout is incredibly useful and the screen resolution is great along with the matte finish providing virtually no glare. Battery life is good. Wi-Fi connectivity is also good. All in all, a solid machine that allows for a lot of productivity.
More than I expected...with ease.

This is my first experience with this brand of computer and I am extremely please. I am not a big tech person. So, I need things to be easy to find and use. This is that type of laptop. I have no problems hooking it up to wireless service, printer and other technical items I will use this computer for. The back lighting of the key board is a small plus for some however a major for me. It makes my night time working easy to see and complete.
Comfortable confidence
If you're looking for powerful AMD processing in a 15" laptop, the IdeaPad S340 is the choice for you. It's thin and light for easy portability. Narrow bezels let you get the most out of the display. Thoughtful design details, like the privacy shutter that puts you in charge of your webcam, complete your experience.
Great for entertainment
The IdeaPad S340 brings your audio experience alive with the theatre-like sound of Dolby Audio. You'll also get the most of your display, thanks to its slim top and side bezels, Full HD resolution and touchscreen display.
Power & smarts
We've powered the IdeaPad S340 with AMD Ryzen technology, so you can enjoy speedy processing no matter what tasks you're handling. We've also added thoughtful design elements based on your feedback on previous models-such as the camera shutter that puts you in control of what your webcam sees.
