My parents gifted my 6 and 8 year old each one of these laptops while school went 100% virtual due to the pandemic. Thankfully, these are user-friendly enough that the kids are nearly independent. The trackpad is a little sensitive, but that's easily adjusted, the keys are great for beginner typists, the battery life is excellent, and overall operation is a cinch. We were able to easily log in to the OS using their school system's email addresses which pre-loaded their devices with all the Google apps necessary for virtual learning (including a handful of Chrome browser extensions and bookmarks). Setup took 10 minutes, tops. The devices are incredibly lightweight (which means I don't have to worry about the kids retrieving them and setting them up) and the spill-resistant quality of the keyboard is a massive comfort (because I know with kids, a spill is inevitable). As a Mac user for the past decade, I struggled a tiny bit with the keyboard (the absence of Caps lock definitely threw me), and the Chrome OS is a little confusing at times, but I've managed to adapt pretty quickly. SO thankful for these inexpensive, durable, user-friendly laptops. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a student device, or even a backup/travel device for someone like myself.

This Chromebook is easy to set-up. I bought this to give to my mom and have set it up with Zoom and all the other apps she likes to use. The phone like App bar at the bottom will make this much easier for her to easily start the apps she like to run. The unit easily recognized and attached to our local wifi. I tested it on Zoom. It connected easily and the camera is good quality.

Perfect size to take back and forth to work in a restaurant. Runs smooth with multiple tabs open. Good video and sound quality for a low price machine

I love my Lenovo Chromebook S340 (14” - Onyx Black! It was a mother's Day gift from my daughters! Easy to use and understand! I use zoom it's pic and sound great quality! I use chromebooks daily at my job this one is the best!

Well built chromebook that is a good value for the price. The screen is decent, not great, but it's fine for schoolwork. I wasn't expecting a great screen at this price.

I bought this chromebook for my elderly mother to replace her Windows 7 desktop. Hardware: Unfortunately, right out of the box the touchpad did not work. This is the 2nd Lenovo that I have had hardware issues with on arrival, but I expect the replacement to be completely functional (hence 3 stars instead of 2. My mom has an older VGA monitor, but an $11 adapter worked perfectly with the USB-C port. ChromeOS: The good news is that ChomeOS is much simpler for me to maintain for my mom. I can also easily use the remote assistant to help my mom. Also using Google Drive, etc. will benefit keeping my mom's files maintained. The bad news is that ChromeOS has a "feature" that hides the scrollbar in the Chrome browser, which makes it difficult to use the trackball my mom loves. Switching to a standard mouse with a scroll wheel solves the issue, but is not ideal. Overall I think the Chromebook does the job, and would get a higher rating if not for the DOA touchpad and the "disappearing scrollbar" that is part of the OS.

Lovely laptop design. It's a beautiful piece of hardware! It feels durable enough and it's light weight where it's easy to take on the go. Chrome OS offers simplicity that you don't have with Windows or macOS. If you're looking for a laptop that you need for basic functions - i.e. surfing the web, watching YouTube videos, and using Google Drive - i.e. Google Docs and Google Sheets, this is a worthwhile purchase considering the affordable price. If you buy this, also has compatibility with Google Play, so you can install Android apps onto the device; I haven't checked this out much yet -- but definitely looking forward to it.
