Perfect little laptop
This is the perfect "laptop" for me! I am a stay-at-home mom who homeschools, handles the finances, and is returning to college online. This IdeaPad hits all of the necessary checkmarks to seamlessly handle the variety of things I deal with day to day. On top of that it is smaller than a typical laptop (fits into a tote purse), lightweight for portability (and comfortability on the lap), and charges fairly quickly. I could not be more pleased with my purchase

Worth the Purchase
It was time for an upgrade from a Yoga, and I wanted something a little smaller. I liked that the IdeaPad Flex 5 was the right size I was looking for.
The pixels are so crisp and realistic, the touchscreen is great, and I like signing in using my fingerprint.

This is my first PC so take this with a grain of salt. I am an Apple fan but for reasons I won't explain, I needed a PC. It is beautiful and sleek and I think it will be wonderful but it is not intuitive. So many things popping up at me upon first start up. I don't know where to begin.

Constant Crashing

OK but there are 2 annoying issues.
The laptop works fine but there is a sharp edge at the bottom of the screen that presses into your thighs when resting on your lap. The laptop does NOT have a lighted keyboard which I mistakenly assumed was standard on any quality laptop.

Worst laptop I have ever owned
The laptop is made of cheap material. I noticed little cracks in certain areas only months after using it and had to duct tape them. 8 months in, the hinge assembly broke, rendering it unusable, and Lenovo is claiming physical damage is not covered by the warranty. I can see that the entire body of the laptop has become slightly warped because the material is so bad.
And the whole time, it had been slow and buggy with bad battery life.

Great product!
It's great! It's the perfect size for myslef and my child. Graphics are great and memory is exceptional. My child is able to play Roblox and Sims with no issues.

Great purchase
I bought this for my daughter who is a junior in high school. She loves it. Its just the right size to take to class with her, touch screen is a great thing,so I also got the pen to go with it! Great purchase and great price!

Very good computer. It does all the things a computer does. I did, however, find it particularly annoying that it is prompted to create a Microsoft account as soon as it turns on. However, you can avoid having to create an account by disconnecting the wifi before turning on the computer. Everything else works great. Cheers

I needed a computer for photo processing & unsurprisingly, this computer exceeds expectations. I needed something for my business suddenly but it needed to be cost effective. I bought a slightly cheaper computer from a competitor that I promptly returned for slow performance & excess add-on software that no one asked for. Went straight to Lenovo, knowing that is what I should have done in the first place, & the computer is fantastic. Battery life is amazing, screen is beautiful, fingerprint scanner works beautifully, boot-up is extremely fast & processing power is more than fast enough.

Enjoyable laptop
Laptop has been quite responsive and the touch screen is very easy to use. Minimal heating when in use and the hinges are smooth in the 360 mode

DO NOT BUY THIS LAPTOP, GOOGLE BROKEN HINGE
Lenovo knows they have a problem with a faulty laptop hinge and yet they won't replace it. This is the worst laptop I have ever owned. The hard drive physically disconected itself at one point and I have had non stop issues with display and sound drivers. AND NOW THIS. Lenovo has really let themselves go, it seems some other cheaper competitors are making better laptops these days.

WARNING - Poor Product Lenovo Doesn't Stand Behind
Terrible product and terrible service. The Ideapad has a fragile feel to it and is not suitable for a regular commute. The WiFi adapter started going out intermittently within a week of receiving the product, but then would come back. After having the product for five weeks I attempted a return, but since I passed the 30 day mark (because I worked with tech support), Lenovo would not support a return.
Recommendation: DO NOT BUY

Defective Equipment
I hardly even used the computer and within 30 day I get this bitlocker screen and need a recovery key to access my computer and when I type it in, it says the hardware is defective and cannot be repaired so I have a useless piece of silicon. In addition, the battery only charges up to 60%. I want to charge it up to 80%

Lenovo Ideapad flex 5 14"
I love this computer. It's sleek and had a a good desolate. My only reason for not giving it a fifth star is because randomly the laptop shuts off and I have to reset it, even when the battery is sufficiently charged. It takes time to reboot and since I'm a student can be a real inconvenience.

Rough start, but all good!
It didn't start off good & I almost sent the computer back. PC Matic does not work on this computer. It caused the blue screen to come up. Once we got it back up we had a issue getting the battery to charge but figured out it wasn't the computer! Everything has been working good. Ended up buying another Anti-Virus software & everything is good!
