Using this as a mid grade CAD station
We migrated away from the 15" screens to the 16" models and have had great success with the Legion. Our CAD programs wanted heavy duty graphics processing (Revit) which works great on the Legions. I wish the Legions came more widely available with the Windows 11 Pro,

Not a gamer -- training designer/facilitator, video creator/producer, etc. Laptop started off great! Then it heated to extremely hot while charging. Tech support suggested I immediately exchange it since I was within the 30-day window of a new purchase. Unfortunately, there were none available, so I had to return it. I ended up purchasing a Legion Pro 7i Gen8 Intel RTX 4080.

This laptop is the king of 2024.
I love this laptop, it does everything and more. Gaming? Yes. Video editing, yup. Making a game? Uh-huh. I upgraded it as soon as I got it to 64GB of Ram and 5 TB of Memory. My only complaint is I wish they would have had the option to get those upgrades through Lenovo. I saw this laptop on several YouTube videos saying how good thislaptop was so I bought it. Now I have buyers remorse because I want the white version of it.

Awesome Graphics and Durable Shell
The metal shell feels sleek, yet durable enough that it can hold up for a good couple of years. The lights are a nice touch and come with a number of settings for the occasion. The graphics are great, and I love the ability to swap the refresh rate to a beefy 240hz when needed.

Awesome 4090
I just submitted a review of a the 4080 version for the laptop I purchased for my son. The 4090 is as exceptional, if not better. I do not play a ton of games, but playing Madden on the laptop shows the amazing graphics the machine can provide. The machine has worked flawlessly on all functions I have used the machine to complete.

Amazing upgrade!
I loved this laptop the second I took it out of the box. Great thermals and build quality were my first impressions. Plenty of software on board that actually works and helps to optimize my gaming experience. Games run smoothly: I've been able to get the full 240 FPS in competitive titles like Overwatch while still having decent resolution for single player games. Keyboard feels great. A little on the heavy side, but that's to be expected with the hardware and ports this thing ships with. My last laptop was a Razer and this feels like an upgrade in almost every possible way; the only thing I kinda miss is an IR camera for biometrics and some RGB customization options.

Great features and looks like a laptop
Fast and easy to use with installed apps. Looks like a regular laptop if want, but also has rgb lighting in keyboard and light bar on front.

Great Laptop !!!!!
This laptop is great. I was trying to decide between another laptop and this one. After comparing the specs and price I went with this one and I am very glad I did. It is more cost effective while still housing the newest top of the line graphics card, cpu etc.
It is very responsive, snappy, great screen, and comes with more than enough ports and options to get things done. I am enjoying this laptop so far!

Like it so far!
So far no complaints! Nice quality laptop for gaming/anything. Generous number of ports present on the side and back (which is very nice!) Keyboard feels nice and trackpad is responsive. Speaker and monitor is decent. Definitely worth buying - especially with a discounted price.

I did a ton of research on a new laptop over the last 6 months or so and decided on the Legion 7i Pro, 13900HX - 4080. The computer is extremely well built, runs flawlessly and does not look too gamer like which was important to me. I was worried about the plastic deck and lack of fingerprint scanner, but these items have proven to be insignificant issues. I bought directly from Lenovo and have been very satisfied with the entire process. Highly recommend.

First impressions are good!
The laptop is very sturdy and well constructed. The keyboard is very nice, with good travel and even better than the Yoga 7i 16 inch 2022. Sound quality is good, but the Yoga 7i actually sounds better in this department. The screen is great, no complaints with regards to brightness. The webcam works well similar to the Yoga 7i 2022. I don't find the fans to be an issue but I have not gamed with this laptop yet and I haven't used it for anything too intensive. I haven't had any software or hardware issues so far (1 week in). I have been using this laptop as my daily driver for work primarily (primarily medical statistics and productivity work).

What a powerhouse. Made for gamers and creators
Just wow! I was looking to buy a replacement for my desktop (1080ti 11gb with 32gb of RAM and i7-8700k) as I am editing 4:2:2 10 bit pro res videos a lot and was falling behind on performance having to always create proxies for a good workflow.
Of course I am also a gamer so I didn't want to compromise on that end either. This is where my research ended on the Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 with a 4080 inside. WHAT A POWERFUL MACHINE. Absolutely no stutter when playing back videos on my timeline which make for an incredible workflow. My games are running smooth never lower than 60 fps for really demanding stuff. The cooling is great which was the worst issue when it came to choosing a Laptop, tried the XPS 15 from dell and it was overheating just while downloading software. My Legion has great airflow and keeps the temp at a great level. Very convenient!
The only small thing is that there are no SD card reader even though it's the thicker model, the slim model has it so it's kind of a bummer but not the end of the world

Solid machine
It was hard and long way of choosing my gaming laptop but my final decision was the Lenovo Legion 7i. This choice was based not only on technical specifications but also on huge variety of computers experts opinions. I must say I have not been disappointed so far. I love the design and the power of this machine. I think Lenovo made a great job!

Lightning fast, with a couple flaws.
It's a nice laptop but it has an issue which seems to be widespread. A lot of other people have the same problem. It drains while gaming when it's plugged in. From what I've read it seems to be fixable, but you do have to send it in, which is a bit of a pain.
The other thing is that it's very very loud. Unusually loud, even with a cooling pad. Not the biggest deal, but it is quite loud even for a gaming laptop. So much so that it's pretty annoying even for me if not wearing headphones. For other people, it's very irritating. That along with the cooling pad does keep it cooler than other gaming laptops I've had, but I think maybe they should've shaped the air intakes differently.
Now if it was just your average gaming laptop, I'd be very disappointed... But the thing is, other than it's issues, it is an awesome laptop. It's lightning fast. Spectacularly fast. I got the 4090. I'm not sure if this review will only go to that model, but boy oh boy, this thing is awesome.
So, should you get it? If you don't mind the possibility of having to send it in to be repaired and the truly quite loud noise, I'd say go for it. It's a great price for spectacular performance. If you want to use around other people, like in a group work environment, or library, run the other way. People will chase you out of the room, and rightly so. If noise isn't an issue, and you can part with it for like a week if you have to. Get it. I will say, it does have a quiet mode, so maybe if you're not doing anything intensive at all, just surfing the web or word processing, it might be fine.

Came slow out of box
Bought the custom order Legion pro 7i Gen 7 thinking it would be top of the line. I wish I hadn't, its hotter than I expected, was slow literally out of the box, the trackpad is completely useless to even set the computer up.. My points I came back to use from the purchase expired quicker than budget airline miles lol. I dunno, disappointed is a huge understatement.

I researched laptops for several months before deciding on getting a Lenovo Legion Pro 7i, and it has lived up to my expectations.
I keep mine in performance mode with the fans, and overall I don't even notice the fan noise. You can hear it when it begins to ramp up, but it's not nearly as loud as others I've heard.
The keyboard too is heavenly with one exception being the number pad. The keyboard area is spaced perfectly and is nice and quiet. However, while the number pad shares the same quietness as the rest of the keyboard, they are narrower than the keys in the keyboard section which makes it a little more difficult to punch in numbers quickly without keeping your fingers closer to each other.
The RGB lighting is very nice too, and I personally enjoy the fact that it's not placed all over the laptop like previous models. While extra RGB lighting looks nice to the onlooker when it's in the vents or on the back of the monitor, it's just useless and a waste of energy and resources. This years Legion has the perfect amount of RGB lighting where it benefits the user but keeps the laptop looking more professional.
Build quality of the Legion Pro 7i, well, I couldn't be more pleased. I've always heard from other Lenovo owners about how durable and well built they are, but I had no personal experience. One of the reasons I chose Lenovo was for the build quality. I've had HP laptops, and MSI gaming laptop, and long ago I had a Gateway laptop, but none, I repeat, NONE of them come even close the build quality and solid sturdiness of the Lenovo Legion Pro 7i. This laptop is rock solid, far better than I was expecting.

A Powerhouse Performer with Minor Hiccups
The Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 is an absolute powerhouse, offering unparalleled price-to-performance value. Its beautiful display with deep blacks and a 16:10 aspect ratio makes multitasking and gaming a joy, I don't see why anyone would want a larger screen on a laptop. As a replacement for my gaming desktop, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. The only improvement needed is fixing the network boost feature in Lenovo Vantage, as it currently disrupts both gaming and internet connections. There is also minimal coil whine the GPU produces however its very common in most GPUs and can easily be solved by limiting fps to 165, I also heard it gets better over time.

Legion great quality!
Very solid build quality, gorgeous screen, excellent performance, not a fan of some of the lenovo/microsoft bloat ware but those can be removed. Got mine for just under 2600 usd, customer service had to apply the $100 off coupon, great support!

A fantastic powerful laptop with a great discount
I been waiting for Lenovo to offer a good promotional deal on the Legion Pro 7i with a 4090 RTX video card.
The wait was worth it and was able to double dip in the promotional discount and a additional discount the day of may purchase.
In in all, is the better combination of feature, portability and price I have been able to find with a full spec hardware.

My first lenovo legion laptop
I've had a few gaming laptops in my lifetime. From an Asus, to an MSI and an Alienware R3. They were all 17" heavy machines. My next laptop I wanted something light and on the thinner side since I got tired of carrying the other monstrosities that were 7-8 lbs. I had my eye on either the legion slim or Asus M16 since they were both light and thin. I saw the review for the legion pro i7 and one of the reviews showed how heavy and laptop was and the power adapter so I wasn't planning on buying the legion pro. But during PAX west I saw a few gamers in the byoc section that had the legion pro 7i and thought to myself that it wasn't as big as it seems. And during that weekend the legion laptops were on sale for intel day. So when I saw the legion pro 7i with a 4090 on sale I told myself why not. After I recieved the laptop I was surprised on how small and how thin the laptop was compared to my Alienware R3 17". Of course it's still thicker and heavier than the Asus M16 or Legion slim but still thinnier and slimmer than any other gaming laptops I've ever owned with a powerful cpu and a gpu to boot. Beautiful screen amazing keyboard compared to the Alienware which felt weird to type on and felt cheap. And I love the ceramic keycaps that was included for the WASD. Even the way it was packaged felt like a premium product. If I had to think about some negative things I wish it had more usb-c ports and the fans are LOUD. But let's be honest....there is a 4090 in there so of course it's loud. What gaming laptop isn't loud so it's hard to give it negative points for that.

Very Happy With my Purchase
I got the 4090 with 2TB variant for $2600 - talk about an absolute steal. This thing is awesome at the price. It easily outperforms PCs. An amazing piece of tech. It's great battery control, knows when to actually use the 4090, and is very quiet during normal (non-gaming) use. I treat the laptop more as a console, so I play controller type games on it. But I am still quite happy with the keyboard and mousepad. Seriously, I got a great deal and I am very happy about it.
