I have owned at least a dozen different AKG-414s over the past 35 years and I got to tell you, after I heard this Lewitt LCT-640, I knew I'd never use another AKG again. First off is the sound, amazing, crisp and clear on any source. My vocals pop in the mix, my acoustic guitars soar to new heights and drum overheads are stellar as well. Next the feature set and buttons on the front panel are easy to switch back and fourth... I love the LED lighting as well, makes for a cool modern vibe. Next is the price, I cannot believe I bought one of these for $400 less than a AKG-414 and the Lewitt runs circles around it, just love it. My vocals have never sounded more rounded, defined and character driven than with this mic. P.S. I have also used vintages U47s, 251's and of course U87 and the Lewitt LCT 640 is my favorite. I feel like it has given me my own special sound that no one else has... it's my signature sound! Thanks, Lewitt, great job!
