One of my go to mics for my Lead vocals!
This mic is one of the best that I've used. I love the Midrange and also the clarity of the top end. It brings the funk out of my vocals. I also love the fact that I can balance between the tube and more neutral fet sound. The multiple patterns make it usable in just about any studio application. The is a winner every day of the week. I've been using this mic for a while now and it is one of my prime microphones over a plethora of microphones in my studio. Very versatile as well... majority of the time i'm either tracking vocals or acoustic guitars. But I've used this mic has been used on Cellos, Violins, Violas. The LCT 940 combines the specific characteristics of a premium large-diaphragm FET condenser microphone and a top-notch tube microphone in one housing. Basically, users can choose between the two main settings "FET" and "Tube". These two signal paths have been incorporated separately and work independently of each other.
"Tube" delivers the classic, warm and rich tube sound, while "FET" stands for the clear, exceptionally rich and nuanced sound LEWITT condenser microphones are renowned for. Furthermore, the LCT 940 features a total of nine different polar patterns - Lewitt's five "standard" polar patterns omni-directional, cardioid, figure-8, wide- and super-cardioid and four additional intermediate patterns. The microphone features four levels of attenuation and four switchable high-pass filters, LEDs and push buttons for noiseless handling on the PSU.
