This high-quality switcher is designed with a wide bandwidth for video/audio vertical interval switching, catering to the needs of video professionals.The AVS-816/SA boasts a sophisticated, compact modular design, capable of handling both video and audio in the analog domain. It features sixteen channels of video and stereo audio, providing ample capacity for managing multiple sources. The unit allows for a mix of digital and analog switching modules for both video and audio, offering complete system flexibility and efficient routing of multiple video and audio signals.The non-looping inputs of this video switcher deliver outstanding return loss performance. For component digital applications, an optional analog monitoring output is available, enhancing its versatility. The unit also features a single switch on the front panel for selecting audio and video break-away, with dual LEDs on the source selection and follow switch indicating follow or break-away status.The AVS-816/SA is equipped with 3-pin Weco connectors for audio inputs, which can be detached individually, facilitating pre-wiring before connection to the switcher. The digital audio I/O is designed with full transformer isolation to eliminate the risk of ground loop interference.Switching is accomplished during the vertical interval using the vertical sync derived from the video at the output stage. Similarly, digital audio switching occurs during the audio sample preamble. The AVS-816/SA can be controlled by a serial data feed of either RS-232 or RS-422/485 interface standards, selectable by a simple internal DIP switch. It also supports control by a remote control panel using the common RJ-11 modular connector and the RS-485 interface standard.For automated system applications, an optional GPI interface is available. The serial communication protocol is compatible with existing Link video and audio switchers and remote control panels. To ensure seamless integration into existing systems, the AVS-816/SA can be preset to respond to specific instruction sets. This makes it an ideal choice for video surveillance or security systems requiring efficient management of multiple camera feeds.
