Great filter holder! I purchased this one instead of the new one because the new one does not hold 4mm filters which is a bummer. I hope they will change that but in the meantime, this serves its purpose.

Like all Lee products, you get what you pay for. Top quality filter holder. Work perfectly. I use it with both Lee and other brand 100MM filters, works for all of them.

Bought the Lee filter set to shoot the total solar eclipse when I could get a screw on filter. But the Lee ended up being a great choice. Easy to attach and remove, and resulted in great eclipse shots!

This is a must if you plan to use Lee filters very frequently. Filter holder works great and is light weight.

Seemed to go together mostly easily. Allows for add-on filters should I need them. I am a beginner and I am just interested in longer daylight exposures, so I will likely not require additional filters.

This is easy to set up which is nice on cold days. I love the ability to stack filters too. It does everything I wanted it to do. Jim

Filters and holders are well-made. Good optical quality for filters. Holder is a little overpriced for what it is, but I don't mind if Lee makes a profit. No problems. It's a good idea to spend some time and energy experimenting with ND grads to get the most from them--and good practice to take your time examining the image in your viewfinder. Very nice tool for digital (limited dynamic range) and also for use with film. Photographers of old would have loved this tool! A greater number of desirable exposures are obtained with the ability to control (contract) contrast range.

I am a beginner at this photography. I like shooting Landscape with my Canon D6. I love how my ND filter fits snugly and securely in this filter holder. Highly recommended

This holder comes set up to hold 2 for inch filters, but it comes with parts to add a third slot. A detention holds the filters firmly so you don't have to worry about them slipping out.

very well built and looks to last a long time. I haven't used that much since my big stopper is still backordered. But comparing it to another product, this looks sturdy and will last a lifetime.

I have only had this for a short time, but so far so good. My only qualm is the price. It just seems a bit steep. Otherwise 5 stars.

I've just started to use the neutral graduated filters and, before purchasing this filter holder, I had made a sort of "market and opinion survey". At the end, even if it's the most expensive filter holder I had in the list, I've purchased it. It's well built and gives a good feeling of robustness. It's quick to snap on the adapter and the filters slide in with the right amount of strength. Not too much to make the sliding jerky, not too loose to let the filter move It would be perfect if it weren't for the cost and the cost of the adapter ring.

The Lee Foundation Kit, although pricey, is probably the best way to go for serious landscape photographers. It offers the greatest level of flexibility in using multiple filters and the quality is there. As a system, it seems to represent the standard by which other "system alternatives" are measured, which probably explains its relatively high price tag.

I also have the Cokin Z-Pro system and the LEE system is far better.

Lee has excellent quality filters. They are expensive and the system is more complicated then it should be. You need to buy the filter holder, the adaptor ring which connects the holder the lens (several may be required if your different lens have openings of different sizes ie 77mm and 58mm) and then the filters. But did I mention the quality of the filters? It is worth it the expense and hassle to get the shot. Be prepared to wait months for some filters, like the popular Big Stopper.

This filter holder is sometimes hard to get, but I think it is worth the pursuit. I think it is well made. I have seen/read that pros can hand hold their 4x6 filters. For me, I think having the holder just gives me a bit of confidence, especally with long exposures.

After a good deal of research, I decided to bite the bullet and queue up for the pricey and elusive Lee filter system. While I have been very pleased with the 12 ND and color graduated filters I've managed to pin down, I have been less than pleased with this holder. The construction and overall design are okay. The plastic material is sturdy and lightweight. The device secures easily to my lenses. It is easily expandable and optional attachments like a bellows and adapter for a circular polarizer really make this a versatile tool. That said, this holder has one major flaw - it scratches the edges of the filters severly. After only a few uses, my coral grad. looks like it's been abused -- dye completely gone about 1/4" in with a wide, white scratch the length of the clear portion.Granted this doesn't effect the visible area of a composition but it does effect the resale value. Likewise, if you are as fussy about your equipment as I am, scratches on your hard to come by $ filters are unacceptable -- especially scratches from an [$] device designed with these very filters in mind.I tried loosening the screws that hold the plastic tensioning guides but that did not help. I also affixed linen tape along the edges of the filters but the pressure from the guides caused the tape to eventually come loose. The bottom line is if I plan on continuing to use this holder then I will need to learn to live with the scratching. I'm having a hard time coming to terms with that.I would recommend this holder only if you think the edge scratching will not irritate you.

All in all, I'm very pleased with the Lee foundation kit. I use it with 4x4 ND and 4x6 GND filters, as well as a 105mm CP (which requires an adapter). I'm using it with Hitech resin filters, which work fine with the Lee holder. My only complaint is that it's TOO easy to remove the filter holder. The first time I used it with my CP, I accidentally bumped the spring-loaded pin that secures the holder to the adapter ring and it fell off. Fortunately the holder/filter fell into some dewy grass and not a hard surface, so no permanent damage was done. I think I'd prefer it if there were some way to make the connection more 'permanent'. This is the only reason for the 4-star rating rather than 5.

Again Lee products would be the way to go , if you are serious about your craft ,the wait times to obtain Lees product could be up to three months or longer my suggestion is to wait. , the only problems I find with this item is the auto rotation around the lens with the polarising filter and nd in the slot, you have to watch your shots to make sure your ND filter has not move , the construction is very light, you have to be careful with this unit, also shooting with the sun at a 75 degree angle or higher you might get burn spots on your shots this is due to the fact that there is slight spacing between the holder and the lens. USE YOUR HAND TO BLOCK THE LIGHT WITH A TRIPOD on the camera....

Excellent Holder

The Lee clip mounting system is convenient to use! I'm using the foundation kit with Hitech 4x4 and 4x6 resin filters. At this time I do not see the need for the 0.5mm shims they sell as the holder seems to grip the filter(s) fine.
Great System. Really built for the Pros

The Foundation Kit is fundamental to the LEE Filters system
It takes standard 100mm filters, and can be constructed to take up to three filters at any one time (remember, though, the more filter guides added, the higher the likelihood of vignetting with wideangle lenses). The Foundation Kit, like all others, clips onto the adaptor ring which, in turn, screws onto your camera’s lens.
This kit contains all the components necessary to construct a versatile holder, capable of holding up to four filters. The photographer can then choose which combinations of filter thickness they want to use by selecting and fitting the appropriate filter guides with the screwdriver provided. Additional guides and screws can be purchased separately
