The Leica SL3-P is a camera designed for performance-oriented photo and video. This camera not only offers incredibly high-resolution 44-megapixel files but also captures them at up to 40 fps in continuous shooting. The BSI Full-Frame sensor delivers up to 14 stops of dynamic range and is paired with an excellent 819-point hybrid autofocus system that combines phase detection with contrast and object detection.
Leica has opted for a 44-megapixel BSI full-frame sensor that delivers excellent high-resolution, high-quality images. This sensor is paired with Leica’s Maestro IV processor, which delivers images at up to 40 fps in continuous burst mode. 5-axis image stabilization up to 5 stops helps deliver sharp images, even at slower shutter speeds when shooting handheld.

A new hybrid autofocus system combined three different focusing technologies to deliver improved tracking performance and smart subject recognition. Phase detection, object detection, and contrast detection autofocus are used together to ensure that even the most dynamic subjects remain in full focus at the most crucial moments. 819 autofocus points offer incredibly fast, accurate focusing, regardless of where the subject lies on the imaging sensor.

The Leica SL3-P can capture both 8.1K Open Gate in 3:2 format and 8K Open Gate HDMI RAW at 30p. For those needing higher frame rates, 5.9k/60p recording is available in addition to 4K/120p. Apple ProRes codex is available up to 5.8L, ensuring top-tier image quality. Two new in-camera LUTs for the L-Log color space provide even greater flexibility in post-processing than ever before, making this camera ideal for both professional film productions and hybrid workflows that demand the best quality.

Leica’s SL3-P expands on the already highly rated SL3 lineup of cameras, which truly excels at offering minimalist icons and menu design while not leaving any features behind. A special color code (red for photos, yellow for videos) is used to easily distinguish between photo and video modes.

The user interface automatically adapts to the orientation of the camera and displays all necessary information clearly on the high-resolution 3.2” LCD touch panel that comes equipped with anti-fingerprint and anti-scratch coatings. For those using the viewfinder, you’ll be treated to a 5.76m dot, 120fps EVF that delivers hyper-realistic colors and excellent clarity.
The Leica SL3-P integrates seamlessly into your creative process, from shooting to post-production. It connects directly to smartphones and tablets via the Leica FOTOS App for remote control, fast data transfer, geotagging and firmware updates. Camera-to-Cloud with Adobe Frame.io, as well as native tethering for Capture One and Lightroom Classic, ensure efficient communication with the set, studio and post-production teams.

The Leica SL3-P is designed to fill a gap between the SL3-S and the original SL3. The SL3-S uses smaller files (24 megapixels) to offer higher speeds, while the SL3 uses a 60-megapixel sensor. The SL3-P fits perfectly in between, striking a nice balance between high-resolution files and still very impressive speeds.
