At its maximum lens speed of f/1.4, the Summilux-SL reveals its distinctive character. Weighing 20 ounces, it is designed to be used with Leica SL3 cameras, creating a balanced center of gravity for steady handling. Design Details
The Summilux-SL 50 f/1.4 ASPH. consists of 11 glass elements in six groups. The 11-blade aperture ensures smooth transitions in out-of-focus areas and is electronically controlled. The lens communicates directly with the camera via the Leica L-Mount contact strip. When used with SL-Cameras, the black anodized aluminum body forms a unit that is sealed against dust and splash water in accordance with the IP54 standard. The lens is designed for long and intensive use, with an E67 filter thread and the metal lens hood included in the scope of supply.
