This advanced device is engineered to process and display all standard closed caption formats, including those outlined by the FCC Report and Order on General Docket No. 91-1 and EIA-608 recommended practices for Captions, Text, and XDS.The IEC-788 Closed Caption Decoder supports nine standard data channels, including Caption channels 1 through 4 (CC1-CC4), Text modes 1 through 4 (T1 through T4), and Extended Data Services (XDS). This versatility is further enhanced by the ability to select various operating modes via four front panel switches.Housed in LINK's compact 700 Series chassis, the IEC-788 is designed for durability and reliability. It can be conveniently rack-mounted alongside two other 700 Series units of any mix for optimal space utilization. The device features a rear panel switch for selecting between PAL or NTSC, and a front panel switch for choosing between 115 or 230VAC.The IEC-788 Closed Caption Decoder is designed with the professional user in mind, processing both composite baseband video and S-Video. The composite video input features high impedance looping, while the S-Video operates at standard levels. The device's complementary differential input amplifier ensures high common mode rejection, and its phase-linear keyer seamlessly inserts decoded characters into the video image.
