Just unveiled, the IEC-788 Closed Caption Decoder emerges as an advanced solution for professional video setups requiring high-tech closed captioning capabilities. This sophisticated device is engineered to seamlessly process and display all standard closed caption formats, adhering to the stringent codes specified by the FCC Report and Order on General Docket No. 91-1, as well as the EIA-608 recommended practices for Captions, Text, and XDS.
The IEC-788 supports nine standard data channels, including Caption channels 1 through 4 (CC1-CC4), Text modes 1 through 4 (T1-T4), and Extended Data Services (XDS), ensuring comprehensive coverage for a variety of broadcasting needs. Users will appreciate the innovative design that allows for easy selection of operating modes via four front panel switches, enhancing the user experience with its straightforward interface.
Encased in LINK's compact 700 Series chassis, the IEC-788 boasts a state-of-the-art build that is both rugged and reliable. Its versatility extends to the option of rack mounting, where it can be integrated alongside two other 700 Series units of any combination, optimizing space and streamlining the setup process.
The IEC-788 is designed with the professional user in mind, processing both composite baseband video and S-Video. The high-impedance looping composite video input and standard level S-Video input cater to a range of professional requirements. The device's complementary differential input amplifier ensures high common mode rejection, while its phase-linear keyer expertly inserts decoded characters into the video image without compromising quality. Differential gain and phase are meticulously maintained within 0.1%, reflecting the device's precision engineering.
With a rear panel switch that toggles between PAL or NTSC systems and a front panel switch for selecting between 115 or 230VAC, the IEC-788 is a paragon of flexibility, suitable for international use across various video standards. This closed caption decoder is an ideal choice for professionals seeking a versatile, high-quality solution for their closed captioning needs, ensuring accessibility and compliance with broadcasting standards.
