It's the Lectrosonics IFBT4 Frequency-Agile Compact Transmitter, a high-tech, professional-grade device designed specifically for broadcast, motion picture, theater, and stage applications. This compact transmitter is renowned for its extended operating range and superior audio quality, making it an essential tool in the audio equipment industry. The IFBT4 transmitter can function as a standalone device or be seamlessly integrated into popular intercom systems. It utilizes the innovative Lectrosonics Digital Hybrid Wireless U.S. Patent 7,225,135 systems, which digitally encode the audio in the transmitter and decode it in the receiver, all while transmitting the encoded information via an analog FM wireless link. This unique digital algorithm, exclusive to the digital domain, ensures the highest audio quality, free from the artifacts of an analog compandor.This frequency-agile transmitter operates within a frequency range of 563.2-588.7 MHz, offering 256 UHF frequencies in 100kHz steps. This broad range provides exceptional flexibility, making it easier to coordinate frequencies in multi-channel wireless systems and avoid interference from external RF signal sources and noise. The IFBT4 transmitter is equipped with a microprocessor control for user-friendly operation and transient elimination at turn-on and turn-off. The transmitter output is muted in the TUNE mode to prevent interference in other wireless systems during frequency changes. In the XMIT mode, the output is activated, and the frequency remains constant.With a robust output power of 250 mW, this compact transmitter, when paired with an efficient antenna, provides an impressive operating range with the R1A belt-pack receiver. Its signal can penetrate various surfaces and reflect efficiently, extending the operating range and reducing the need for critical antenna positioning.The IFBT4 transmitter features a backlit LCD display for easy visibility in dimly lit conditions or direct sunlight. It also includes DIP switch settings on the rear panel for direct compatibility with RTS and Clear Com intercom systems. The preamp stage in the input stage allows for direct connection to dynamic microphones in standalone applications, and the direct output at studio line level can be fed directly into the transmitter.Constructed from rugged, machined aluminum with an electrostatic powder coating and an anodized finish, this transmitter is built to last. It operates on 6 to 18 Volts DC via a locking connector and comes with a detachable, locking 1/4 wavelength flexible, galvanized steel cable whip antenna that connects to a 50 Ohm BNC connector on the rear panel.
